It takes several minutes before Griffin manages to get control of his wolf to tell me Ava and Ciara disappeared the same day Alexander and I left the Lakehouse. Both he and Liam have been unsuccessful in locating or even sensing them and are confident the girls were taken. Obviously, by force, somewhere between 10 and 11 AM.
From what they have learned, Griffin said the girls left the Spur just before sunrise to pick up Reagan and Roisin. He also mentioned, or more accurately growled, that they failed to tell either man they were leaving. The girls aren't stupid. They knew Griffin and Liam wouldn't have allowed them to go alone.
Mated women never left the Spur without their mates accompanying them. Especially pregnant ones. However, to be more accurate, every female that travels outside the Spur always has an entourage of male wolves acting as bodyguards and shadows.
Only unmated She-wolves that are not in heat can step outside the compound. But those instances are rare.
Even when Ava went to the City for her Wedding dress shopping. Shay, Sean, and several other wolves were always close. Patrick and Griffin only allowed their mates to go without them when they knew their Betas were in attendance.
Not understanding the danger that traveling alone could cause, Ciara and Ava planned to meet Reagan and Roisin at the Tin Cup, but according to the girls, they never arrived.
As to why they were the ones that went to the City and not the men, it seems Reagan and Roisin got into a bit of trouble at a frat party and wanted to return home early. Or so the girls say. But something about their story doesn't sit right.
Considering I remember seeing someone with Reagan energy at Cruze, I'm confident there's more to their story. However, Griffin said both girls are pretty shaken, and he doesn't believe they have anything to say to help us locate Ava and Ciara.
So, for now, Reagan and Roisin are under house arrest and are being monitored by a furious Siobhan.
Using the Packs resources, Liam confirmed Ciara was spotted at a roadhouse around 9:05 AM, which is 1 hour from the City. Both girls used the bathroom, and Ava purchased several candy bars before leaving. That was the last sighting that the men could locate, and they had not been able to track their movements since.
"Can you get access?" Griffin asks, the hope in his voice tangible in his request.
"Yes," is my response, and Griffin sighs audibly.
"And Shay?"
"I will also notify Shay." Knowing Shay, he would have misplaced his comms device somewhere. Shay would undoubtedly be the poster child if wolves were proven to suffer from ADHD.
We both knew Shay would be out of Range for a mind link, but he usually has his earpiece nearby.
Thankfully I have another way to contact him. While talking to my brother, my screen has pinged several times with missed calls from a number I know all too well. Two of the calls were made over the past few days.
"Thank you."
I don't bother responding and end the call.
As soon as the line clears, I hit redial on the missed number and jog to the far wall opposite Alexander's bed. Shay responds immediately. "Yo, Trouble. What took you so long? Did you finally get to bounce on the magical pogo stick?"
"Iris." Cutting to the chase, I focus on the wooden wolf engraved into the oak panel above the fireplace and place my palm over the carving. Applying pressure to the wood opens a hidden panel with a small black switch. I flick it and wait.
