Part Five: Welcome Home

You woke up sighing, Levi was due back today. You were excited to see him, to be able to hug him and just be with him. You had been horribly lonely, you didn't get along with any of the Military Police, or the Garrisons, they all thought you were slutty and taking advantage of the fact that Levi was your boyfriend. You looked at the golden ring on your ring finger. 'Wow, I'm gonna get married' it had only just dawned you that you were now engaged. To the man you love. Heck you were having a baby with him, he must love you to do all this. You sat up feeling nauseous as always, "give it a rest will you?" You whispered placing a hand on your bump. You looked over to the clock, 8:42am, Levi was due back at midday so you had plenty of time to get ready. You walked over to the bathroom to freshen up, then went to breakfast. You normally sat alone, because none of your friends were there. You gingerly poked at your breakfast, porridge, it was disgusted thick, but it gave you energy so you ate it anyway.
You returned to your room, like everyday, and read a book or drew something, just to pass the time. Every so often you would look at the clock, hoping it to go faster. Then eventually the time came, 11:50am.

You rushed out the camp to the gate, preying for him to be there, safe and harm free. You pushed your way to the front of the crowd and looked around. There he was. "Levi!" You shouted waving your arms in the air. He turned his head to see you. You looked in shock, Levi had a bandage around his head and another on his hand. He weakly smiled at you as he continued to ride through the street.
When Levi dismounted his horse you ran up to him tears in your eyes. "(F/N), I missed you" he said as he pulled you into a hug, "what happened?" You said reaching up to touch to bandage, Levi flinched when you touched it. "It's nothing" he said kissing your forehead, "you kept your promise." You whispered weeping slightly. He sighed knowing you were happy, so he was happy too.

At dinner you were happier, you had your friends and fiancé with you and it couldn't get any better. "So, um how many died?" You said shovelling some pasta into your mouth. Levi looked to Eren, who was hanging his head in shame. "Around 200 soldiers." He murmured. "Better than last time" Levi said rubbing your shoulder, you nodded. You twisted your engagement ring around your finger smiling slightly. "So you asked her then?" Armin asked Levi, he nodded kissing you.
"So um when are you getting married?" Eren asked.
"Defiantly before the baby is born," Levi stated resting a hand on your stomach, his eyes widened, for the first time he felt his baby kick. "I-it kicked!" He quickly rested his head on your bump. You couldn't help but giggle at his reaction.
"It's been doing that constantly since you left." You smiled.
"You definitely know who daddy is huh?" He cooed rubbing his hand in circles. "Don't worry little one, I won't be leaving again any time soon." Levi whispered kissing your stomach. "Lemme feel" Hanji demanded, you grabbed her wrist shaking your head, it would just spoil the tender moment if Hanji joined in.
You felt content, Levi was safe and so was the baby, but you knew that deep down that when you're a scout, anything can happen.
