"I'm sorry sir, but there is no way we can let her continue her education here," The principal looked sympathetically at my dad, conveniently avoiding eye contact with me. "Although I believe she has no relation with the shooter, there are just too many suspicions and to let her stay would be putting my students in danger." My dad sighed but nodded his head and, after some paperwork, we took our leave.
I bet you're wondering why I am currently being expelled right? Well, two days ago I woke up a sweating mess after having a dream about some kid shooting up the school. Any other normal person would brush it off since it's just a bad dream, but nothing about me is normal. Ive always had these vision-like dreams and I knew this was going to happen. Something told me that this was not just some silly bad dream. This was real.
So I told an administrator that I knew this kid had a gun and he had to check. He gave me a lecture about how if this was a prank it was not funny, but nonetheless, he did and you'll never believe what he found. Did you guess a gun? Yeah, pretty "super duper shocking" right? Anyway, instead of praise for stopping a potential shooting, I get accusations. Everyone wants to know how I could possibly know this guy had a gun unless I was affiliated with him. I was not, I truly didn't know he existed till this fiasco, but once someone has their mind set it's pretty much reality after that.
So here I am, cleaning out my locker, while my dad stands there awkwardly waiting and hushed whispers surround us.
Once I finish I slam the locker and give it one last look before walking away. I feel like this would be more emotional if I genuinely liked this school, but I'll be completely honest, it was ass. I wasn't super popular and they had more pedophiles than students roaming the halls, but the principal never took any intitiative when it came to that.
We made our way to the car. We hadn't said a word to one another since before we had gotten here. When my dad got in the car he closed his eyes, he let his head fall against the headrest and exhaled quietly.
"Dad I promise I'm telling the t-" I tried to explain.
"I know kiddo. I know." He opened his eyes and put the car in drive. The car ride remained silent after that.

The entire car ride was completely silent. Dad kept his eyes trained on the road the entire trip and I could tell something was really bothering him and I couldn't understand what it was. It couldn't be me getting expelled because there's a high school like a town over so it isn't a huge deal. Was he disappointed in me? Did he actually believe more or was it the fact he didn't that had him so upset? I didn't get to dwell on it for too long because as soon as we got to the living room he spoke.
"Hey kid sit down for a sec," I listened and took a seat on the couch. "I um- I think it might best if we- well if you um," he cleared his throat. "I think it's best if you start attending a boarding school." He finally said.
"Are you serious?" I looked at him dumbfounded. "I didn't even do anything! In fact, I literally saved the school, so why am I being punished as if I'm the one who brought the damn gun!"
"Celeste, watch your language." My dad scolded me and I scoffed. "Sweetheart this isn't a normal boarding school."
"Oh yeah like that makes a difference." I retorted.
"Les, please just listen," He ran his hand down his face. "Your mother attended this school when she was your age and I think it's time you do too. I've tried to avoid it because. well because I didn't think you were like her, but- but I was wrong."
"What in the world are you talking about." I deadpanned.
"You're mother was special Les. She had special abilities just like you and this- this school was made for people just like her." I didn't respond. "I wish I could tell you more, I really do but that's pretty much all I know."
"So you're sending me to a boarding school you know nothing about." He had to be joking right now.
"I know it sounds crazy but-"
"Sounds crazy? No Dad it is crazy. There's no way anyone could think this is a good idea."
"I'm sorry Celeste, but the decision has already been made." He grabbed my hand. "This will be good for you. I know it will. Please just trust me."
Although I was still against the idea I knew there was no way around this, so I just let out a huff and stalked off to my bedroom to start packing.AN: Okay ik this was like super short but it's really just like an intro chapter you know? Anywho sorry if this isn' t too good I'm just doing it for fun. Thanks for reading! Until next time lovelies! <3
