It was him! The love of my life. All pain and hurt from my leg seemed to wash away and I was overwhelmed with tears of relief that he was alive and well :') the window seemed to be unlocked so Chris gave it a quick forceful pull and prised the old wooden window open. I could see tears in his eyes as he carefully climbed through the window into the airy bedroom. It was really dark now and the room was only lit with a single light, dimly shaded by an old tattered shade. However it was light enough to see his amazing smile which lit up his whole being and I could feel his happiness and energy radiating off of his flawless porcelain skin from across the room. "Chris, thank god you're here, I thought you were-" we heard noise coming from the stairs. I gave Chris a terrified look and gestured for him to hide somewhere. There was a walk in area where I used to keep all my shoes and coats just the other side of me so he darted across the room and hid just inside the little doorless cupboard.

"Yes I'll fucking do it if you're gonna be a pussy about it!" I heard my father snap from down the hall on the landing. " No! I want to do it!! You always get the fun parts!! " she retaliated. We heard a glass smash and scuffling in the hall. They were arguing again, and this time it was about who was going to finish me off. They were just outside the bedroom door as I could hear my mother shrieking for her to get the hand gun back. I felt a shiver to down my spine and suddenly I heard a gunshot. It was so loud, it deafened me and sent me into a torrent of ringing bells in my ears and my vision kept shunting. Everything became slow as if I was in slow motion. I could see the door opening a little and them fighting but everything was muffled and amplified at the Same time. I grasped at my ears in pain with all the ringing. When I looked up, mother had come in on her hands and knees and was crawling towards me in slow motion. She looked angry and there was a cut down her left cheek. I spent a long moment studying her face, trying to figure out why this blurry figure was desperately crawling towards me and then I realised that the handgun was by my feet so I used all my strength to kick out and slide it away from her. With my ears still ringing, she slowly changed direction. She was shouting something but I couldn't hear a word and I couldn't see properly because of how the gunshot sound had paralysed my senses.
I saw her reach for the gun and slowly raised her hand up shakily with the gun facing me. I closed my eyes and waited for impact. Another gunshot pierced through my bleeding eardrums and something black went across my vision. Was I dead? I felt no pain. I must be dead. Everything was quiet for a few long moments...until my hearing began to faintly reappear and the ringing began. There was something weighing me down, something heavy. I couldn't pin point what it was. I allowed my to eyes flutter open. My eyes were met with the horror of blood everywhere...but it didn't belong to me.
