Someone is watching. READ THE DESCRIPTION

----------------

You made it home safely with no complications or interruptions whatsoever. It was simply a casual walk back to your house. There was nothing wrong around you. The moon shone through the transparent clouds in the night sky, accompanied by the dim dots of the stars above. The crisp autumn air was like a cold arm around you, guiding you back home with its chilling fingers. The forest was calm and at peace, no lurking shadows dwelled behind the brush and debris.

Your echoing footsteps filled the empty streets, but occasionally drowned out by passing cars. A car would have made the journey home a lot easier, although you didn't mind walking. It was just colder, and darker. You weren't exposed, no. Not to anything possibly hostile. You were a-okay on your way home.

...

Nobody was following you home.

...

You unlocked your front door and stepped into the warmth of your safe, welcoming house. Curtains still drawn, lights all out. It was pitch black as far as the eye could (not) see. You flipped the switch near the door and turned on the living room lights which reached all the way to the hallway and kitchen, dimly illuminating the areas beyond it's reach. It was slightly eerie, especially after your encounter with Bob and the unknown intruder.

Speaking of Bob, you locked the front door behind you and walked to the couch with a huff as you unbuttoned your shirt collar/adjusted your dress straps. The remote was on the coffee table where you snatched it up and turned on the TV. As you sat down with a yawn, you flipped through the channels mindlessly until you found the News station. You leaned forward and turned the volume up, listening intently to the reporter.

'Thank you, Tim. In regards to yesterday's victims, Mr. and Mrs. Gardener have also gone missing. Police say they were last seen around 4pm this afternoon near the local church...'

An image of the couple briefly popped up on screen before fading back to the reporter. Your eyes widened and you turned the volume up even higher with intrigue and worry.

'Two eye witnesses claim to have seen them walk up to the local church, only to be chased into the woods by none other than The Red Devil.'

With that, a blurry image of Bob in his devil costume appeared to the right of the reporter. You shakily clenched your fists, squeezing the remote. He didn't...

'If anyone has any information on Mr. and Mrs. Gardener's whereabouts, notify the police station immediately. Back to you, Tim.' The news reporter droned. You zoned out as the news continued as usual. Not only was that story conveniently being told right as you turned on the TV, but this meant Bob must have gone against the deal. For starters, you had never set the rules in stone until after 4pm, and Bob had promised not to hurt a fly on the days you two would spend time together.

"I swear if he..." You murmured to yourself as you furiously pulled out your phone and checked the News website to try and find more information about the disappearances. Yet the article was even dryer than the news report, with less information, too. You had an unshakable urge to go to the church and search for the couple, just to prove your theory wrong. But you knew that if your hunch was correct... they weren't alive by now. It was late anyways, so there was little luck of finding them in the dark and all by yourself.

You let out a defeated sigh, curling up into a ball, hugging your knees, and watching the News while your thoughts ran wild. There were so many ways Bob could loophole around your deal, and you knew that. He was a cunning, devious serial killer. You knew for a fact Bob thought he was smarter than you. But that was just flat out incorrect. You had the brains to find out every clue he left you, every hint he dropped. You knew every risk of being with him, and you did it anyway. Perhaps he was the same way. Did Bob take risk into account, deciding to spare your life and even date you?

You turned the TV off. It was pointless to let your mind spiral into theories while you were tired, it would lead to nothing but false conclusions and confusion. You walked to your bedroom and got changed into your comfiest pajamas. The bandages on your back probably needed changing in the morning, but you checked them in the mirror just to make sure they looked okay. They were intact, and the area around them looked healthy. The inflammation had gone down drastically since Bob had changed your bandages that morning.

Just as you were climbing into bed, you heard something hit your window. It sounded small, like a pebble. You decided to check it out immediately, circling around your bed to the window. Another object bounced off your window as you opened your blinds to look out at the dark side-yard. The dim streetlights to the right just barely illuminated a figure outside, standing a couple feet away from your window. You recognized the figure; it was Bob. How was he at your house already? It had only been about 40 minutes or so since he called off the date, what was he doing here? With a confused expression, you opened your window and leaned out with your elbows on the sill.

"Is that you?" You whispered, squinting at him. He stepped closer, the autumn leaves crunching under his footsteps. The light from your room made it easier to see his face the closer he got.

"Ya didn't answer when I knocked on your door, so I tried th' window." Bob explained simply, leaning against the window with his hand. You chuckled, smiling at him.

"What are you doing here? Aren't you still uh... worked up?" You asked awkwardly, looking at his slightly tired yet wide eyes. He shrugged, leaning closer to you.

"I calmed down, like you said. But besides that, about our next date. Want t' meet up at yer house the day after tomorrow?" Bob replied smoothly, his country accent thickening for a moment. You pulled out your phone and checked your calendar, seeing that his requested date would work for the morning of.

"Sure! Can it be in the morning, though? I have a shift that afternoon." You said while tossing your phone back to your bed. He seemed content with that, nodding. Bob waved you closer with his finger, a mischievous look creeping onto his face. You had a feeling he was going to kiss you, so you leaned forward. He placed his hand on your cheek and smiled, whispering in your ear.

"I've enjoyed these past two days, darlin'. Do try to keep me from eatin' ya, if you will. I like you too much to turn you into my next meal~." Bob murmured to you in a chilling tone. You tensed up, feeling the gravity of what he just said fall onto your shoulders. He gave you a kiss on the cheek before pulling away with an innocent smile.

"Heh. See ya in two days, sweetheart~." Bob teased as he walked away, waving goodbye. You waved at him while he left, leaning out of your window to watch him disappear along the sidewalk.

That sure was a wake-up call. But an imperative one. You had to remember, he was a cannibalistic serial killer. You might have been one of the first humans he'd kept alive for this long, and it's only been close to 48 hours. Playing it safe for now was your best bet, you didn't want to rush it either. He seemed to like casual dates, but he also seemed just as desperate as you to have some intimate times as well. Judging by his invitation, those times might come the day after tomorrow. If that were the case... you needed to call Kevin for advice.

-----------------

Sorry about the short chapter, but ehe 🤗🤗😏 You guys get to choose what happens next.

1: We go to Kevin and get advice for the next date with Bob, then go to work.

2: We skip asking Kevin for advice and go to work the next day.

3: We skip both work AND Kevin and uh... I'll think of something cool.

So yeah!! PLEASE COMMENT WHICH SCENARIO YOU WOULD LIKE (1, 2, or 3) because if I don't get enough/any comments I'll just decide for myself and it won't be as fun. (btw if you're reading this and the next chapter has already been published, no need to comment a number bc that would be pointless /lh)
