i really miss your face.

he was trying to talk to me again. it had been another month since i had heard him talk about the bet in the library. i have been avoiding him as best i can.

"hey y/n! wait up!" he shouted after me as i raced down the hall away from him. his legs were longer than mine, though, and he caught up to me.

he grabbed my shoulder and spun me around, looking deep in my eyes.

"what, harry? what could you possibly want?" i snapped at him.

"i just really miss your face." he answered.

"you mean the one you used to hate?" i glared into his emerald eyes that were filled with apologies.

"though by now i must disgust you," he continued, ignoring my comment.

"there is nothing to discuss here!" i spat, trying to turn away, but his grip on my shoulder was strong.

"i had tried to be the stubbornest mule when i knew life was cruel," he went on, still ignoring what i was saying.

"it was all some joke fto you. i cant trust you!" i continued, starting to tear up a bit, but blinking them away.

"but i wait here just in case," he kept on going.

"i have nothing else to say." i told him, not meeting his eyes.

"though i know im being senseless." he was just not going to stop with his apology, and at this point, i wanted to hear the rest of it.

"i think its best if we just end this." i told him.

"how could i have ever been so naive and wear my heart on my sleeve when i knew it would leave me defenseless.." at this point i was getting confused. it was all for a bet.

"and if the world was perfect i would have never felt your embrace. you really had me fooled with just a kiss... now i hate your stupid face." i looked into his eyes, and saw them brimming with tears. i turned away again, and he let me go. it was for the best.
