"Everyone wake up for the head count!"

A guard said in a fierce tone while banging on the cell doors. It has been a while since he got into the prison, yet he's noticeably still not used to this routine. From the looks of everyone, he could tell thateveryone's got a rough night, since what happened yesterday was a... little riot. As he stood infront of my cell, waiting for the headcount, he noticed that there are more guards then it has ever been. Maybe the prison is afraid of things like yesterday happening again?

"Leo!"

"Yes, sir!" Leo spontaneously responded to the call of my name.
"What is on your mind?!"
"N-nothing, sir!"
"Good! I hope so."

It gave Leo a pretty good call back to reality. A reality knowing that he's probably stuck in here for the rest of his days. As the head count's over, everyone's given 45 minutes to shower and clean up their cell. If the cell does not look presentable to the guards, the cell inhabitants are... well, going to be "disciplined" for it. Today, nobody is taken away for disciplinary action. Yet.

At 7 AM, the breakfast began. The inmates are taken to the cafetaria for out mandatory breakfasts. They were mid at best, but they cannot complain. Gotta make do with what they have. At 9 AM, the time for breakfast is over. Today is the start of an education program that will happen in the yard, and it's mandatory to follow it.

As the inmates were taken to the yard, Leo couldn't help but notice the team that will 'educate' them today. To Leo's dismay, the entire program is painfully boring. The entire session was painfully slow. What is supposed to be just an hour felt like 3 hours. By the time they're done, the rest of the time is a free time, finally.

Today's free time was awfully quiet. Everyone's seemed to be minding their own thing. Maybe they're recuperating from yesterday's riot.

Before anyone knew it, it's time for lunch. They are escorted back to the cafetaria for lunch. This time, Leo was sat with my cellmate, let's call her "Ava". She took part in the riot yesterday, so it's not a surprise that she looked as if she had been beaten up. To brighten the mood a little, Lep tries to strike up a little conversation.

Leo - "Hey."
Ava - "Shut the fuck up."
Leo - "How's your wounds?"
Ava, agitated - "I told you to shut up, get it through your thick skull!"

Looks like she's in a shitty mood after yesterday. Though, he can't really blame her.

As the bell rang, Leo knew the lunch was over. The inmates puts their trays back into the place, and they were given another free time session. The place was a bit more lively than previously. A boombox could be heard going off in the distance. Must be a dance battle of the sorts.

Today felt a lot colder than usual. Winter is probably coming soon. As he thought to myself about it, a snowflake fell from the sky onto his hand. Yep, the winter is coming. It's time to start worrying about the cold during the long winter nights.

A few hours has gone by, and dinner has arrived. This time, Ava is sat infront of Leo.

Ava - "I want your breadsticks."
Leo - "No."

She still proceeded to take them anyways.

...

A few hours had gone by, and the entire prison has gone under lockdown for sleep. Or atleast, for the other inmates. Leo couldn't sleep this night, 'cause Ava's snores are loud as fuck. As he gazed through the cell door's bars, he noticed some guards opening the door to the cell dorm. Leo quickly went over to his bed to pretend that he was asleep. There are about three guards, doing random 'night searches'. Slowly but surely, the noise of metal hitting flesh and the agonizing screams of the inmates are starting to be heard. And still, Leo couldn't sleep.
