Captain Jack Sparrow stood on one side of the mainstay. His partner, second in command, and lover Caspian Nightingale, was sitting at the base of the mast of their small ship.

They were headed for Port Royal, and the small rickety boat they 'borrowed' from Anamaria had yet to fail them. That was until Caspian felt the wet, cold embrace seep through the toes of his boots causing him to look down. "Uh, Jack?" he called, looking at the handsome man who was still leaning against the mast, soaking up the sunshine with his eyes closed. "Yes, my Jewel?" Jack answered, not yet opening his eyes.

"We're sinking mate," Caspian said mildly annoyed. Jack looked down with a look of disinterest "So we are." He nodded, grabbed the rope on the mast, and slid down. Joining Caspian in the water with a splash, Jack grabbed two buckets. He tossed one to Caspian who caught it and started scooping out the water.

They had been bucketing the water out of the boat for about ten minutes to no avail. When Caspian managed to glance up "Jack, look" he said his voice lacking emotion, almost sad. Jack turned to see what Caspian was talking about and saw three pirate skeletons hanging down from a plank as a warning.

'PIRATES YE BE WARNED.'

Jack took off his hat and placed it over his heart while Caspian, who didn't have a hat placed his hand over his heart in respect. The skeletons were bare to the bone minus the rags hanging off them. "Jack, will we end up like that?" Caspian asked with a slight tremble "Never, love." Jack responded confidently with a firm shake of his head and placed a hand on Caspian's waist pulling him into a reassuring kiss.

By the time they made it to the harbour, the boat had sunk so only the mast was above the water and Caspian and Jack were standing tall at the top in the crow's nest. Gaining a lot of attention from the workers in the harbour.

When the sinking ship reached the pier the sail was gone. Jack grabbed Caspian's hand "watch your step, darling" Jack drawled, pulling Caspian off the mast onto the pier. Neither looked back to see the ship almost completely sink into the dark, cold abyss both walking off confidently, hand in hand.

When they were stopped by the dock master "Hold on you two, it's a shilling to dock your boat." He said, causing both pirates and the dock master to look back at their sad excuse of a boat which only had the very tip of the mast sticking up above the water.

They turned back to the dock master with unimpressed looks on their faces which was ignored. "And I'll need your names" he continued. They looked the man up and down before deciding the man looked like he could easily be bribed. So Jack dug through one of his pockets "what do you say to three shillings and we forget the names, Hm?" he said, placing three coins on the man's log book. The dock master thought about it for a moment then spoke. "Welcome to Port Royal, Mr Smith and Mr James" he said, closing his book and walking off.

The pirates left the way they were heading when Caspian saw a pouch of money he picked it up and pocketed it. "What you got there Darling?" Jack asked. "Just a little something I found," Caspian replied with a smile, slipping his hand back into Jack's and continuing on their search for a new ship.

They spotted one and walked down a secluded dock, hand in hand, Jack swaying with each step. They tried to get onto a Navy ship when two guards stepped in their way. "This dock is off limits to civilians." The first guard said "we're terribly sorry if we see one we'll let you know." Jack said pulling Caspian behind him causing him to giggle. But before they got around the guards, they moved to block the pirates' path.

Caspian sends a glare to the two guards "Apparently there's some sort of high-toned and fancy to do up at the fort, eh? How could it be that two upstanding gentlemen such as yourselves did not merit an invitation?" Caspian asked, trying to insult the two guards who were blocking their way back home to the sea.

The guards looked down trying to come up with an answer. "Someone needs to make sure this dock stays off-limits to civilians." The second guard answered. Jack sent Caspian a look saying he was about to cause mischief.

"It's a fine goal to be sure but..." Jack started while walking to the side of the dock and the guards quickly followed. "But it seems to me that a ship like that." Pointing to another Navy ship that was bigger ergo more powerful. "makes this one here a bit redundant, really." Jack said with Caspian nodding along in agreement. "Oh the Dauntless is the power in these waters true enough but there's no ship that can match the Interceptor for speed."

The second guard countered Jack's face fell and a look of deep concentration filled his expression. "I've heard of one." Caspian said, finding his dirty nails more interesting than the conversation at hand while the rest of the men waited for him to continue. "Suppose to be very fast, nigh uncatchable." Caspian explained and Jack's face lit up when he realized where his lover was going with this.

"The Black Pearl," Caspian said mysteriously. Guard number one scoffed "there's no real ship that can match the Interceptor." He laughed until guard two cut him off. "The Black Pearl is a real ship." "no it's not." the first said back then the two went back and forward about the existence of the ship. Causing Jack to roll his eyes, the duo watched for a couple of minutes. before Caspian quietly grabbed Jack's hand and pulled him around the two arguing guards toward the ship.

The two pirates were at the quarterdeck, Jack behind the wheel. "This is a nice ship" Jack said running his hands over the wheel "it could be better." Caspian pouted "aye, that's true, mate but we'll get her back" Jack said knowing what his partner was talking about.

The next thing they knew they were being yelled at by the guards, running up to them. "get away from there!" one yelled "you two don't have permission to be aboard there, mates!" yelled the other. "I'm sorry it's just such a pretty boat," Jack said "ship." Caspian corrected "ship." Jack repeated.

"What are your names?" one of the guards demanded "Smith and James." Caspian said "or Smithy and Jamie, if you like" Jack added unnecessarily earning him a small loving smile from his lover. "What is your purpose in Port Royal, Mr Smith, and Mr James?" the first guard asked. "Yeah and no lies," the other added.

Jack started to speak swaying his way towards the two guards with Caspian on his arm. "Well, then we confess. We intended to commandeer one of these ships, pick up a crew in Tortuga. Raid, pillage, plunder, and otherwise pilfer our weasleys black guts out." He said surprisingly honestly.

"I told you no lies," the second guard said. "I think he's telling the truth" the first guard muttered to the other just loud enough for the pirates to hear. "If he were telling the truth he wouldn't have told us now would he," the guard said back. "Unless of course, he knew you wouldn't believe the truth even if he told it to you" Caspian added to confuse them.

"And then they made me their Chief..." Jack was just finishing a story when they saw a young woman fall into the water, narrowly missing the rocks. All four men ran over to the side of the ship "will you be saving her, then?" Jack asked one of the guards "I can't swim" He sadly admitted. Both pirates looked at the man in shock and then at the other who also shook his head.

Then Jack took off his hat and handed it to one of the guards. "Pride of the king's Navy, you are," he said, annoyed while handing his other effects to the other guard. "Don't lose these" he said to them before jumping off the ship into the water. Caspian shook his head, finding Jack endearing while removing his coat, pistol, and his sword, also handing them to the guards. Before diving in.

By the time they got to her, she was lying on the bottom of the sea. They both slipped an arm under one of her own and started swimming one-armed up to the surface. They had broken the surface but the dress she was wearing was too heavy. "Jack it's too heavy we're not going to be able to swim." Caspian sputtered out "hold her steady." Jack sputtered back while Caspian did that, Jack swam down and ripped off the outer layer of her gown and let it fall back to the bottom of the sea.

Now that she was almost weightless she floated up and the two pirates swam to the dock. They lifted her onto the dock with the help of the two guards "she's not breathing" one panicked. "Move" Jack demanded, pushing them out of the way then pulled off the corset while Caspian picked up his belongings off the deck and put them back on.

She immediately started breathing and sputtering out water. "I never would have thought of that" one of the guards said, causing both pirates to look at him annoyed. "Clearly you've never been to Singapore" Caspian said as Jack retrieved his coat.

Caspian noticed the medallion that hung around her neck, lifting it from where it sat but not removing it, he called Jack over. Jack's eyes widened "where did you get this?" he asked.
