Before she could even think of an answer the rest of the Royal Navy showed up with bayonets pointing at their faces. "On your feet!" they both looked up in surprise at who was speaking at them while standing up.
An older man rushed over to the girl with worry, helping her to her feet and drying her off."Shoot them." Said the man, the girl who they now knew was Elizabeth placed her hands on the man's chest "Father! Commodore! do you really intend to kill my rescuers?" she asked almost pleadingly. The commodore looked between the woman he wanted to marry and the men he wanted to kill before sighing and reluctantly sheathing this gun.
He held out both of his hands "I believe a thanks is in order." The Commodore said, causing both pirates to look at each other sceptically before reluctantly reaching a hand out to shake the other man's. The Commodore quickly grabbed both of the pirates' wrists in one hand. With the other, he lifted their sleeves just enough to see the Ps branded into their wrists. By this point everyone around was looking at their wrists "had a brush with the East India Trading Company did we, Pirates." the Commodore said.
"Hang them." was all that Elisabeth's father said, causing both pirates to look over at him in surprise at his bluntness. "Keep your guns on them, men, Gillette fetch some irons." the Commodore ordered before lifting their sleeves higher to see their tattoos.
On Jack's arm was a sparrow flying over water with the sun on the horizon behind it. On Caspian's arm was a nightingale sitting on a ship's mast. "Well, well Jack Sparrow and Caspian Nightingale, if it isn't the two love birds?" the Commodore said disgustedly, dropping their wrists faster than a lump of hot coal.
Caspian stood quiet but Jack didn't "Captain Jack Sparrow." he corrected, causing the Commodore to look around in mock confusion "I don't see your ship, Captain. And what does that make you, the first mate?" he asked mockingly to Caspian "more like right hand man but I don't expect you to understand." Caspian said back.
Then Jack added his two cents, "we were actually in the market, as it were." Then one of the guards who stopped them from taking the ship spoke up. "They said they were here to commandeer one." "I told you he was telling the truth, these are his sir." The other one said handing Jack's effects to the Commodore who started to inspect them not very carefully. "Be careful with those." Caspian snapped at the man.
The Commodore ignored him looking at Jack's pistol. "No additional shot nor power." Then picked up his compass flipping it open. "A compass that doesn't point north" he chuckled with fake pity. Then moved on to his sword only bothering to half unsheath it "and I half expected it to be made of wood." The Commodore continued to mock him. "You are without a doubt the worst pirates I've ever heard of." "Ah" Caspian put his hands up to stop him "but you admit you have heard of us" Caspian mocked back causing Jack to laugh.
That caused the Commodore to grab both pirates and drag them over to where the lieutenant was standing with the iron cuffs. Elisabeth ran after the Commodore. "Commodore I must protest!" The Commodore ignored her handing them over to the lieutenant.
"Carefully Lieutenant." Elisabeth stubbornly stepped between the Commodore and the pirates "pirates or not these men saved my life." she argued. "One good deed is not enough to redeem a man of a lifetime of wickedness" the Commodore said back.
"Though it seems enough to condemn him." Caspian said sourly with Jack nodding along "indeed" the commodore drawled. The moment the lieutenant stepped away with the cuffs safely fastened. The rest of the men lowered their weapons and Jack gave Caspian a look telling him to be ready. That's exactly what he did, With Caspian standing ready beside him all under a minute. "finally!" He called and rapidly moved so he had the manacle chain wrapped around Elizabeth's throat.
