"Hiya!" a thud can be heard from the distance of a guard tower, a brick building that spirals up to an observation deck with a roof covering overhead from the sun, one of many guard towers dotting all over the city of Fosurbs, with this one watching particularly over a training ground.

"thum!" the sound of a soldier goes down, "up soldier! a Pit Fiend will have already gut ya!" a commander, clad in pearly white armor distinct from the grey albeit same design armor the soldiers wear, beautifully crafted piece that has five spires surrounding a circle in the middle of the chest area, representing the city, shouts as he sweeps another guard onto the floor, "IS THIS HOW THE SOLDIERS OF FOSURBS FIGHT?!"

"SIR NO SIR" yelling in unison
"GOOD, NOW ANOTHER 100 SPAR MATCHES OR DIE TRYING"
"SIR YES SIR" a dozen of soldiers square up against each other, readying themselves for a hell-ish day at work.

"Has Commander Grenpoint always been this intense?"
"Yes dear cousin, it's just rare that you come to visit us here in the training grounds."
A 6ft3' muscle bound fit figure of a dark skin elven lady wearing white armor with a gold colour undertone, embedded om the chest is a symbol of a sword with lines etched angled from the weapon as if to represent a sword gleaming with light, curly dark hair with green eyes and pointy ears greets a fair skinned 5ft3' elven lady, a beautiful and graceful figure tracing a wonderfully made dress of shimmering blue, a face with high cheekbones, blond and black hightlight hair, perfect lips and eyes seem to be made from the ocean itself curtsies in return.

"That's fair, I'm only ever allowed out after my studies" the fair elven lady pouts.
"and when you do, you're up to some tricks, aren't you cousin?" as Portis the armor-clad lady pulls out a trinket of sorts in her hand, a round and metallic looking thing, with the sides having 4 small syringe pumps attached around it, throwing it slightly up in the air and catching it.
"planning to run away with this eh?"
Eyes wide and an audible gasp heard, "no! I would never! I was just experimenting with it" Verra said embarassingly, trying to hide her blush face with her hands.
Portis laughs, "no worries cousin, I don't even know what it does, plus I get it, it sucks to be indoors all the time, so I won't tell anyone, promise" she winks.
Verra nods, and a wave of gratefulness washes over her face.

"I know that a council is called to the Palace for some magic stuff, but I heard that the Magical Circle was not invited, isn't that strange?"
Portis yawns and lays on the table, leaning against the wall with her hands stretching out "yeah, I think it's to do with something with a piece of technology that Frigardia and Fortia Logi came up with, the Magical Circle is going to be at their spire to prepare a space for it, though I heard it's something like being able to speak where you're standing right now and your voice is heard somewhere else, it's weird, and apparently super massive" Portis yawns again as she finishes with a dismisive tone.

"Well I think it's a great opportunity for you and your stupid muscles to get some action" Verra pokes Portis' biceps with her nail.
"What did you say?!" and the cousins engage in a tickle battle.

"Umhm" a cough for attention immedietely had the cousins freeze up. "The Duchess Verra and Champion Portis."

"Emogene." the pair said in unison, Portis gets on her feet off the table to bow, the elven noble straightens up her posture and curtsies, both to see a slightly shorter elven man in his older years in a butler suit, "we er..." as both of them tries to explain.

"Save it," a hand goes up "I knew where Duchess Verra was going to be when I couldn't find her in her studies" both ladies standing in stoic silence, ready to accept get an earful of lecture.
"However the Duchess is required at the Council, so this will not be reported to your parents as the Duchess is "preparing" to head out" Emogene winks. A sigh of relief and a whisper of thank you escapes from the ladies "the council is calling for you two, so I suggest you both run along and pick up Ms Alisif on the way to the palace"

"Me? why would they need me there?" a puzzling look plasters over Verra's face.
"That detail was left out for me, you'll know when you get to Rex Dono's council room" Emogene the butler bows, and exits the guard tower.

"Well cousin, it looks like you'll be out from your studies quite a bit!"
"Yes! finally! though I am curious as to why I'm needed to go"
"like Emogene said, we'll figure it out when we get there, plus we get to go with Alisif! you haven't seen her in ages!"
The elven lady smiles the biggest smile as they merrily make their way to Warble Lane to pick up their friend and from there, the Palace.
