I blinked a few times, and looked at the message again.
I didn't know what to say, so I just put the phone down.
I still had his clothes on, and had a strange feeling about it.
I went into my room, and took off his pants, and put on a pair of shorts instead.
I kept his shirt on, just because it seemed a little reassuring.
The sound of my ringtone sounded from the table in the hallway.
Without really looking who was calling I just pressed on the screen.
"Hi, it's Nora." I said, in a slightly exhausted voice.
"Why don't you answer me?" Said a familiar voice, sounding extremely annoyed.
I sighed before answering:
"Me and Achraf have been together all day, so what?"
"Why are you with my best friend?" He asked, short and cool.
I sighed again, and continued, "He offered me a ride home, but we decided instead that he should show me the city."
"I could have done that." Kylian said irritably.
"You kicked me out." I said now harshly and annoyed.
"I can explain." He said, sounding convincing.
"I can't handle this conversation right now, especially not over the phone." I said, sighing.
"Great, I'll be at yours in 10." He said, getting ready to hang up.
"No, wait-" I said, but the sound of the call ending was the only answer I got.
He doesn't even know where I live. But of course he did what he said on the phone, and a short time after, I heard a knock on my door.
I sighed exhaustedly, but went over anyway and opened the door.
Outside stood Kylian, as expected.
He walked right past me, and sat down in a windowsill, with a big window looking out on the city.
I chose to sit across from him on the windowsill.
"So, you're still wearing my shirt?" He said teasingly, looking at me.
I rolled my eyes, and looked out the window, waiting for him to give me an explanation.
"I don't want my friends to think that you and I are a thing. We're not." He said at first, looking at me a little.
Friendzoned.
I wasn't in love with him either, I didn't even know him yet.
Something about him just seemed reassuring, and it attracted me.
I just nodded my head a little in response.
"So what you're saying is that the way you treated me last night was just pure acting?" I asked, looking him in the eye a little disappointed.
He sighed, and went on:
"None of it was acting. I don't want another rumor to spread about us, when we don't know each other yet. My experiences with girls have only consisted of bad ones, and I don't want to end up being used because of my career. That's why I'm very careful about what I tell and show the outside world."
I understood his thinking, and a part of me felt sorry for him, when he told the part about only having bad experiences with girls.
"I feel something that I haven't felt the same way with other girls, when I see you or is near you. I don't know what it is, and I want to find out before I get your hopes up about us." He finished with, looking out the window.
I said nothing, enjoying the silence a bit, but I knew I had to say something.
"It's okay, and I understand that you're careful about what you say and do. I just won't put up with you talking to me like I'm an object without feelings."
I said, looking at him.
He nodded understandingly.
I took a deep breath, and looked out the window again.
Thinking a little about my family, and my friends back home, which wasn't really my home anymore.
"What's going on in that pretty head of yours?" He asked, and I could sense he was looking at me.
"Just thinking about my family and friends back home, didn't expect moving somewhere new would start out like this." I said, catching his eyes.
I bit my lower lip a little, sinking the lump that had formed in my throat.
"Come here." He said softly, looking at me sympathetically.
I almost threw myself into his arms, enjoying the warmth of him.
He quietly ran his fingers over my neck, sending shivers all the way down my spine.
I had always been a very forgiving person, and I had almost forgotten about that little incident earlier.
It didn't really matter anyway, now he just had to prove it wouldn't happen again.
He whispered quietly: "Can I stay here with you?"
Without further thought, I nodded my head silently and settled closer into his arms.
My eyes grew heavy, and I slowly fell asleep in his arms.
Again.
