The light, (In the all too familiar light..)

Chapter 1

TW: DEPICTIONS OF GRUESOME INJURIES, MAJOR CHARACTER DEATHS, DEAD BODIES

Laura follows her group of friends, practically bursting with excitement. All her life her parents hassled her over little scrapes and bruises. Marria took out her flashlight suddenly, "I see it!". Everyone followed after Marria, they already planned how to get in, so it wasn't too hard. The morgue was under this abandoned hospital, so they quickly entered the abandoned building. Inside it was eerie and quiet. There was a mysterious fog inside, which was odd because it was the afternoon and the sun was shining brightly, so bright it blinded her eyes. All the windows were messily covered with taped cardboard and cloth, it all looked oddly new... like someone came here and did this purposely. Surely that was just her, they walked and explored the abandoned hospital, they're footsteps squelched with every movement..

Eventually they found a door with a sign that said 'morgue'. The sign was flimsy and old but it definitely got the point by. Kaiden whispered a silent "yes!" and went to open the door, it was quite jammed and wouldn't budge, so he kicked it until it would function properly. The steps down to the basement were silent, like if they stepped too hard the floor would tumble under them. Maybe everyone was just as terrified as her, maybe they all regret this deeply. Laura was thankful that she was in the middle, in front of her was Kaiden and behind her was Symphony followed by Marria. The door flew shut suddenly, her soul left her body for a second. Everybody stopped in their tracks, Kaiden looked behind, "Marria?! That was not funny.." Kaiden grumbled. "I didn't do anything!" Marria argued, Laura looked behind to Symphony, and then to Marria, and then to.. Wait, where's Luna? "Guys.. do you know where Luna is?" Laura looked in front of her, Kaiden disappeared, and then she peered behind her, Symphony and Marria were nowhere to be found. Laura shut her eyes, maybe if she didn't look she would get a painless and merciful death. "It's too late.." Then suddenly she heard Luna's voice, and her eyes flew open, she looked around and everyone was there.. "Sorry guys, that was me." Luna said sheepishly.

"What's wrong Laura? You look like a deer in headlights." Asked Symphony, who seemed worried for their friend. Laura was still stunned from whatever just happened, was she going insane?? Is this a sign that they shouldn't be here?! Eventually Laura replied with a quick, "I'm fine." and they were on their way. When they finally reached the bottom of the stairs Laura observed this eerie landscape. There were many drawers with numbers on them, some were open and some were ripped off, it looked like someone was in a hurry to leave as well because an actual body that was covered with a sheet was still on the operating table, with many sharp tools on the side. The room smelled like rotten flesh, which was probably what the sheet was hiding. "Holy fuck.." Marria muttered. They were all clearly creeped out, but Luna walked forward and approached the sheet, "I don't think you wanna see what's under that.." Kaiden quickly said, trying to stop Luna. She reached a hand out and pinched a side of the sheet and lifted it up, immediately the strong smell of rotten flesh became even more apparent.

Everyone was so freaked out, but Luna just calmly put the sheet down and nodded, there was definitely an autopsy going on. Luna walked back and picked up the black costume and handed it to Marria. "You're still expecting me to dress up after that?! Hell no." Luna raised an eyebrow and retracted her arm. "I'll do it then." Luna said calmly. "You do you man.." Marria murmured. Laura wasn't so sure of this anymore. Luna was wearing leggings and a short sleeved tight shirt, both things wouldn't be visible when she put on the suit. It was like she knew this would happen..

Laura's head had a sudden flash of pain again, and it once again did not stop until she could only focus on it.

When Luna finished putting on the black greenscreen suit, Kaiden reluctantly took out his phone, opened TikTok and started recording, "We're currently in an abandoned morgue! This will be so cool, follow and like if you want more videos of this!!" Kaiden finished recording and posted it with the caption 'SpoOOoooooOOOooOky' with a bunch of tags. They decided to record the next part and then draft it until the likes started pouring in. Kaiden hit the recording button and began exploring, with Luna occasionally in the frame and running around behind them. Eventually they finished 3 parts and went to check on the first video, there were so many likes and multiple comments begging for a second part, and an eerie comment, "you will regret this deeply." It creeped them all out deeply, but Symphony said it was probably just some troll. They posted the first and second video, but Kaiden suggested they post it when the first two videos go viral. They started climbing up the stairs with Luna still in the black greenscreen suit, but her footsteps were so loud the walls shook. Kaiden turned around and was horrified. Luna was at least 5 feet taller than normal and was crouched enough to be able to walk without breaking the roof. "Luna...," Kaiden tapped the creature (presumably their friends) on the shoulder. Marria was the first to bolt to the top of the stairs to try and budge the door open, Laura followed pushing past Symphony so she wouldn't be directly behind Kaiden.

The creature stood, and the roof elongated. It was the oddest thing she had ever seen. It grabbed Kaiden by the throat and started to crush his neck, they all heard a sick crack. Before he was discarded to the ground. Marria finally budged open the door and she flung it open and bolted for the exit, Laura followed and they both fled to the outside, they turned around and saw Symphony run for them through the broken glass doors they entered through before she was caught by the creature and her head was crushed like a small bubble, ready to burst. Laura quickly ran with Marria behind as the creature chased after them, she bumped into something and fell back, she looked up and looking back at her with lifeless eyes was Luna, her body contorted and twisted in a way that could not be normal. Marria was caught as well, and she was the only one left, she stood up and started running again, but her legs couldn't bring her far. The creature picked her up by her hoodie, and she faced it. Its face was shaped like a normal human face, with normal features, but they had pitch black eyes and a large mouth, which curled into a sickening, sharp-toothed, smile. "Have fun.." the creature said, before she felt excruciating pain. She woke up with a bright light in her eyes, was this heaven? Did she succumb to her injuries? Why were her friends here? She looked around and the rest of her friends looked just as confused to her, they all wore a plain white shirt and plain white pants with a chain stuck to their legs which was attached to the wall, she looked down and realized she had the same exact outfit on.
