HC20 - Surgery

Ok trigger warning for surgery and recovery ⚠️ not detailed just talks about hospital things

This idea got brought up because I'm currently in the hospital after a huge spine surgery and need some comfort from our golden child aaahahahahaha 🥲✌🏻

- You just found out you need surgery and when you tell Hunter he doesn't quite understand fully

- It's kind of like he's in a daze like "oh ok y/n is getting surgery.... WAIT Y/N IS GETTING SURGERY"

- Expect a million questions you can't answer yet, "are you ok?" "are you sure you're mentally prepared for this?" "What can I do to help?" "can I even help?" "when is it?" "am I asking too many questions?"

- When it's the day before surgery he makes sure he's got all your things packed and ready to go, checking it over at least 17 times

- LITERALLY SHOWERS YOU WITH THE MOST LOVE, SUPPORT, AND AFFECTION 24/7

-"y/n you are literally the sweetest, strongest, most amazing person I know and I know you can get through this, and don't worry I will be right here when you wake up"

- And boy oh boy he was, once you wake up there he is holding a beautiful bouquet of flowers and showering you with kisses whether you liked it or not

- If you're cranky when you get up he'd totally give you your space tho

- But otherwise he's all over you in a matter of seconds showering you with compliments kisses and snuggles (if allowed)

- You gotta stay overnight in the hospital? He's right there next to you in a chair holding your hand until you fall asleep

- Feeling nauseous and just out of it? He totally
understands and gives you whatever you need whenever you need it

- (also I see he's one to just get a jug of hospital ice and chow down on when you're in the hospital because like why not?)

- Brushes your hair out of your face and tenderly kisses your forehead smiling with the slightest tears in his eyes

- When you ask him about the tears the only thing he says is that you're the most gorgeous thing he has ever laid his eyes on and that you're so incredibly strong it astounds him

- *cue Hunter being a blushing mess after he realized what he just said* *covers ears*

- OK BUT HIS BLUSHY EARS ARE SO CUTE IM JUST SAYIN-

- Once you come home from the hospital you see the whole house is clean tidy and once you get to your room you gasp

- A bunch of cute new stuffed animals lie on your bed  and a cute little sign over your window saying "welcome home y/n!!"

- There's a fresh bouquet on the dresser and a bunch of self care items brought to you on a little bedside table

- Tissues, hand sanitizer, chocolates, candies, you name it, it's there

- Don't expect that just because you're out of the hospital that you won't get any more kisses and snuggles

- You are literally this man's greatest treasure and he will treat you as such (in the best way he can)

- When you're snuggled up close to him he hums low tones as your ear is pressed against his chest. The little notes and rhythms he makes up slowly lulling you to sleep

- Let's be honest this man's voice is so calming I could listen to it all day if I could

- His humming too is so peaceful and heartfelt, knowing only you can see this side of him, the warm and cozy side that there was nothing else to worry about in the world except each other
