Target gets crowded on the weekends and Luke wanted nothing more than to not be there.

"Luke?" He heard Jesse calling for him but he didn't really listen.

"Luke!" She poked his shoulder, he sighed and looked over at her. "Do you like this couch." Luke nodded and hummed in approval. Except he didn't look at the couch, he was too busy scrolling through Tumblr and he know he wouldn't really get a say in what couch they got.

"Hmm, I don't know if I like it though." Jesse took Luke's hand and pulled him, which caused him to drop his phone onto the concrete store floor.

"What the hell?!" Jesse winced as Luke yelled at her. He noticed her expression and looked at his feet in shame before bending down to get his phone.

He tried to brush her auburn hair out of her face, but she shrunk away from his hand. "I'm sorry. I..I didn't mean to." he whispered

"We need to get soap." Jesse mirrored his volume, but used her own spiteful tone, and kept her gaze straight ahead. She started off towards aisle 4 without grabbing onto Luke this time, or even looking back to see if he followed.

Despite what the cashier said the tissues were not in aisle 4 with the toilet paper and soap. Michael grumbles to himself but is too nervous to ask again. He turns around quickly and runs straight into a girl.

"Oh my god. I'm so sorry." He kept his eyes at the ground feeling lucky that neither of them dropped anything so he wouldn't have to help her pick it up, risking that awkward teen movie thing.

"You're okay." she smiled and Michael looked up at her before backing away to leave. She was wearing a beanie and ripped skinny jeans and Michael couldn't help but like her.

"Luke, come on we have to get soap." She said softly, almost nervous. Michael gave acknowledging smile to the boy following kind of far behind her and he nodded back before mumbling something about soap. Michael let out an obvious gasp, putting the pieces together and realizing it was The Luke. He grabbed a random thing off of the shelf and began to examine it to make it look like he wasn't just standing there, staring longingly at a boy who was clearly straight and in a relationship with a girl.

Luke could tell the boy was watching him and he knew he recognized him, but he couldn't place it. His blazing red hair should have given him away, but Luke's memory of it was clouded, like a dream. Something about him intrigued Luke. He just had to say hi.

"Uh, hey. I'm Luke." He put out his hand and the boy looked at him nervously, pulling his eyebrows together.

"Michael." He stated simply and bit his lip.

"Nice." Luke nodded."Your hair's cool."

"Thanks." Michael nodded along awkwardly, rocking back a forth on his heels, a nervous habit. "Well.... I have to go buy this..." he looked at the bottle he had in his hand. "...air freshener?" He questioned, but walked away, turning around slowly to see Luke watching him walk away. Feeling courageous he turns around fully, starting to walk backwards, to give Luke a small wave. Luke waves shyly back and Michael smirks at his mild embarrassment.
