After about 3 minutes of mining I found an odd colored ore, it's tan with a gray color added. I looked in my crafting book, and found whats called iron. It said "Iron is capable of mining iron, coal, gold, redstone, and diamonds. My wore out wooden pick was about to break and there was no way it would mine iron. So I grabbed my bench and tried using the cobblestone I mined instead of wood to make my pickaxe. It mined the iron fast and efficiently, I wouldn't get straight out ingots from the ores, so I looked back into my crafting book, and found the page "Iron" again. It said "Iron ore must be smelted into iron ingots" Then suddenly I had a flash back of the furnace I used to cook pork, and I made a box out of cobblestone, with a layer to put coal in, and a layer above the coal spot that I smelt and cook things with. I call this furnace, "Steve's Furnace" I put some coal into the bottom layer, and my iron ore into the top layer. I lit a spark so it could light the coal. The ore started melting and liquid iron was forming, I made the iron into the shape of a small rectangular prism.
And made a pickaxe. This pick is something to reserve.
