Dylan walked into the kitchen, after having a week off, due to illness. He was happy to see Steven, the only other chef that worked with him, stood smiling as he walked in."There he is!!! You feeling better dude?"
"Yeah thanks! I was sick through my birthday which sucked, but I'm happy to be back!" Replied Dylan.
"Oh man, I'm sorry, that sucks! Well get your apron on and then help yourself to a cupcake from the fridge - my treat."
"Thanks!!" Dylan took his hoodie off, and his shirt lifted up with it. Steven saw a tiny pudgy belly on Dylan - which was unusual, since he had always been so slim.
Dylan pulled the apron over his head, and then tied the strap round him, making his belly snug and more apparent.
"And oh," Steven said, Dylan whipping his head round from the fridge, "...Happy birthday!" Steven was going to comment on Dylan's new chub, but decided it would be inappropriate.
"Hey, thanks Steven!" He held up the cupcake as a 'cheers' towards Steven, and this life his shirt, again showing a small pouch of fat and some faint stretch marks. Dylan bit down into the cupcake, and a shocked look came over his face.
"Damnnn, Steven you know how to bake!!! Those are fucking good!" Dylan exclaimed, mouth full of sponge.
"Careful! Eat too many and you'll get muffin tops like me!" Steven poked his love handles, and Dylan laughed.
- An hour later-
"Pretty busy today, huh?" Asked Steven
"Busiest I've seen it..."
"How was your birthday by the way?" Steven added, slyly
"Oh! Yeah, tons of food. I mean TONS. Which is weird, i never usually have an appetite, but i guess my eating is catching up to me." He said, poking his soft tummy.
"Ah, good for you dude! Nothing wrong with letting yourself go- but, don't do it as much as me!" He laughed, shaking his big gut.
"It's mainly my uncle - he's big on food and always tells me I need meat on my bones" said Dylan, rolling his eyes.
"Well sounds like we could all use your uncle in our lives..."
"You can take him! I'm living with him while my parents are in Wyoming."This information struck Steven. *If this is what he looks like after one week with his uncle... imagine a month!*
