It was a snowy day, cold winter air, skies gloomy and gray. It wasn't the weather for bathing suits and tanning lotion, but it was the perfect weather for Onyx. A very one of a kind girl. The snow flurries fell to her face as she stared up into the clouds. She took a deep breath, taking the cold air into her lungs and letting out with a smirk on her face. She'd only had one person in her life to this point and always kept to herself. Her best friend, Grace. She was only nine when they'd met. It was around the time her family abandoned her. Her mom, dad, brother and two sisters. Grace and her family had took her in and made her as their own. Of course, Onyx knew that she had to stay strong and to be independent. After her family left her with nothing, she vowed to only count on herself, that way if she were to ever end up in any other emotional trauma, she wouldn't have to be hurt so badly. She would just expect it.
Now, Onyx isn't just any ordinary girl. She is very, very special. You see, there are seven jewels born into this world in human form. All have different powers to go with the meaning of their jewel.
Emerald: Strength and nature loving- power of Earth.
Amethyst: Caring and honesty- power of The mind.
Sapphire: Deep and protective- power of water and ice.
Diamond: Pure and beautiful- power of shape shift and healing.
Ruby: Headstrong and heated- power of fire.
Topaz: Gifted and bright- power of light.
Onyx: Ultimate and Rarity- power of magic and control (telekinesis).
As you can see, Onyx is the most powerful. No one ever expected her to be born into this world. Though her white-blonde hair and blue eyes didn't give off the whole dark and ebony look of an onyx jem, her style and personality does however. She was a strong girl. Willing to take on anything and can deal with major pain. As of three years ago, when she was only fourteen, she began dance lessons. She'd taught herself everything she knows. Tomorrow was when she could finally get back in her dancing routine. Last year, she was beaten by her bullies so bad, they broke her right leg. Now she was ready to dance again as it finally healed. She was more excited than ever. Later that night, she was playing in the snow as she loved the cold weather. "Onyx! Dinner is ready if you wanna eat something!" Grace called her in. She smiled at her in exchange and nodded. She immediately turned to their house and ran to it, the door already open, her knowing the heater was on. She smiled as she entered through the door and seen her plate sitting on the kitchen table. She ate quickly before going into her bedroom and grabbing clean clothes to wear to bed. Of course, all she'd wear to bed was her under clothes; underwear and bra. "Hopefully I can rest good tonight so I can be ready in the morning. The bus lady sure hates waiting." She sighed and ran off to the bathroom to get a shower. After spending thirty minutes under the hot relaxing water, she got ready for bed and prepared her things for tomorrow. Putting her black dress in her bag along with her heels. She finally laid down and set the alarm on her phone for eight o'clock in the morning and pulled the covers over her, closing her eyes happily. It wasn't five seconds later, she hears some leaves rustling by her window outside. They lived right in front of the woods, so she was thinking it was just an animal and rolled over to go to sleep. It wasn't too long before she heard the noise again, but this time, closer to her window and the noise was more clear. It sounded like human footsteps. Her heart began racing but wasn't at all afraid to confront whoever this perv was looking through her window. She grabbed her pocket knife and rushed over, quickly sliding the heavy piece of glass up to catch the attacker. "Gotcha! Huh?" She looked around to see no one there. Only foot prints in the little bit of snow on the ground. "What the hell?" She looked around once more before shrugging her shoulders and closing her window, locking it just to be safe. She finally laid down and cuddled underneath her warm blankets and went to sleep.
The morning sun was finally shining through the window, the alarm just going off. Onyx rolled over, grabbing her phone and yawning. The time was dead at eight o'clock. She hurried out of bed and put a pair of black shorts on and started digging for a shirt. She settled with a black tee shirt with a white skull and crossbones logo on the front. She slipped her black boots on and grabbed her bag, brushing her hair on the way out the door. "Finally!" she cheered as she continued running down the street. "I've waited all this time!" She stops for a moment to check the time. It was only 8:07. The bus didn't come until around 8:15 or 8:20. "I'd better get to the bus stop now if I wanna be there on ti- oof!" She was interrupted when she'd unexpectedly ran into another girl. She got up, dusting the dirt off her knees and reaching a hand out to the stranger. "I'm so sorry! I wasn't paying attention when I was walking." After helping the girl up, she grabbed her bag and offered a friendly handshake. "I'm Onyx by the way." The girl accepted the hand shake and smiled. "I'm Rebecca. And don't worry about bumping into me. I'm such a clutz." She giggled. Onyx looked down at her hand after feeling an odd texture of something rough. She focused on the odd bandages that were wrapped around her hand. "What happened?" She asked in a concerned tone. Rebecca looked away and hid the bandages with her shirt sleeve quickly. "I-I wasn't paying attention when I was making dinner the other night and I sliced my hand with the knife.."
Onyx just went along with it, though it didn't seem like that was the case. "Well, I'm going to my old dance studio to practice if you would like to tag along." Rebecca smirks and nods her head. "Why not? I have nothing better to do." They both catch the bus and head to the old studio on the other side of town. When they arrive, both of them step off the bus to something shocking and unexpected. The studio was all beat up and abandoned. "Well, maybe the back door isn't locked." Onyx insists as they head to the back of the building. Although the back door wasn't locked, it wasn't at all what they expected. The metal door had been kicked in, hanging crookedly on only one henge.
"It isn't what I thought I was gonna see, but its open." They both look into the darkness of the hall and see a light far at the end where the dancefloor is located. The two girls take a deep breath, and step into the pitch black hall, preparing to walk to their destination unarmed and frightened.
