First off things... Scrooge has no cannon age at this point, but people believe he is 40-50, and in the original literature, he's around 50, and for that, I will probably make

y/n around 20-30. Really, you can choose what age you want to be as long you don't make yourself
a child... but enjoy the story!

I'm y/n l/n.

I work under the care of Mr. Ebenezer Scrooge, along with my friend and coworker Bob Cratchit.
Things are really simple around here, well other than our boss, Mr. Scrooge. He makes things more difficult than they should be.

Life has been really difficult, for I've been working longer than I should, hoping for bigger pay. Bob worries about me, though I tell him not to, he has children to look after he shouldn't worry about me-

Scrooge barges through the door, then slams it after he walks in.
Scaring Bob and I. We scramble to our feet. While doing so, Bob knocks over his ink container. "Oh- Mr. Scrooge, oh dear -" he yelped and fumbled to set the ink back up.

"Ah, welcome back, sir!" I say as stare at him. Mr. Scrooge scoffs.

"Oh, uh.. sir, Something I should tell-"
Bob tries to cough out before Scrooge interrupts.

"The cost of that ink will be deducted from your pay."

"The ink? Oh yes, the ink- I completely forgot.." Bob said looking down at his desk, that's now ruined.

"Do get on with your work, Cratchit. If that's not too much of an inconvenience, that is." He then warned us, "I do wish not to be disturbed."

"Oh but sir you-" he cut me off
"I'm sorry y/n, but I've had more than my fill of people for today.." He opened his office door to see his nephew standing in his office. The thing I was going to warn him about.

"A visitor sir... you have a visitor." I chuckled at the face he was making, then looked away before Mr. Scrooge yelled at me.

"So I see.." Mr. Scrooge said lightly but annoyed as he walked into his office and closed the door behind him.

Leaving me and Bob behind, I look over at him and can see he's frowning.

"What's wrong Bob?" I asked lightly. "Oh, nothing y/n. It's just he never listens to me, or you for that matter!" He frowned.

"Oh, Bob don't get your hopes up. He never listens to us. Why would today change?" I said. Bob looked at me still with a sad look.

We sat in silence, listening to the conversation Mr. Scrooge and Harry have every Christmas eve, Harry asks his uncle to join him, and he always says no...

It happens every year.

After a little while, Harry walks out defeated once again with disappointment smeared across his face.

"Harry.. let me guess, he said no again?" I asked. "As right as you are y/n I'm still as disappointed as I am every other year" Harry sighs.
