Most people spend their whole lives trying to find something their meant for. Something they want to do for the rest of their lives doing. I found what I want to do. My name is Catalina Gomez. I am the daughter of Gerardo Gomez and Anabel Gomez. The two most powerful mafia bosses.
"Hello? Earth to Catalina." I hear Martin's, my best friend, voice. A very, very annoying voice. "Shut up, dude." I had the most painful headache all day and him speaking just made it worse. Then the bell rang.
Science. Very last class of the day. Also the most boring one. Even more boring than History or English. I gather my stuff as Martin waits by the door. I grab my service dog, Zeus, leash and closed my bag. I grab his bed that I keep under my desk and put it on top of my bag.
Once I had everything I said bye to my science teacher, and walked out. "So, anything new?" Martin asks as he wraps his arm around me. "No." I fix my hair so it doesn't look weird. "Really? Theo hasn't said anything to you?" I scrunched my face like I do when I think something is weird.
"No. Why? Does he have to say something?" Speak of the devil. Theo Garza. A Senior in Martin's soccer team. His father is ally's with mine. Also next in line. Like me.
He's friends with Martin. "Hey Martin." He turns to me. "Catalina." Yeah we dont really talk to eachother. "Can I talk to you?" He asks me. He side eyes Martin. "Alone." I nod. Martin seems a little hesitant. "Go. I'll be fine." He looks at Theo doing a once over as if saying if he sees one hair out of place he will hurt him.
Once Martin leaves Theo starts talking. "You are probably going to hear this from your father but I thought it would be better for you to hear this from me." Ok. Weird. What would be so important that Theo thought he would take time out of his day to tell me himself instead of my dad telling me?
"Ok?" I let it drag out. "Your father and my father were talking in my father's study. I had over heard them. They want to unite the businesses and the only way to do that is for us to get married. They've arranged for us to get married." He seemed like he didnt care. Meanwhile I was freaking out.
"Wait, what? You're telling me my dad, told your dad, that they should unite the businesses and in order for them to do that we would have to get married?" I was repeating back to him. I swear this is something straight for my books I've read.
"Correct." I start pacing in the hallway. "No,no,no. This cannot be happening." When I get anxious our stressed out my hands start shaking. Like full on shaking. Hands going back and forth repetitively. "You're kidding right?" I stopped shaking my hands and just started playing with them.
"No not kidding." I grab my book bag and start walking out. "No one else knows?" If this got out in school I would be facing angry teen girls. Theo is quite famous with the girls for his looks. Curly hair, blue eyes, pale skin, full lips, and a deep ass voice.
"Not as far as I know." A little of the stress came off me. A ping came from out phones. "Thought you said no one else knows." I start walking to the front entrance. "Cause that's what I thought." We exit the school and get into our cars.
I swear I'm going to kill dad.
