I ignore him the whole time we walk down the corridor leading to the main house. We dont even like eachother, so really, I don't care.
Theo
I've liked her since I can remember. I still like her, but it's like she doesn't even care.
She doesn't care.
At least that what's she looks like. It didnt look like that in the bathroom. I see my hickeys becoming more visible with time. Soon enough, the right side of her neck is gonna be covered by my beautiful work. Everyone will know shes mine.
Only, ever, mine.
No one else's.
"I'm gonna go for a ride." Catalina says.
They have a couple horses here. Lina own about 3 of them, but she really only rides one. The other 2 are search and rescue horses whenever one of theirs goes missing.
She runs upstairs and slams her door.
"Jesus, man. What did you do." Chis asks me slightly chuckling.
"I dont even know, dude. All the sudden she got mad at me. " I shrug.
First thing my dad showed me is dont mix up pleasure and business. Then again it's coming from a guy who cheated on his wife with hundreds of other people.
She come out not long after wearing a white top, dark blue jeans, her boots, a belt, and a hat.
She looks good. Too good. Gorgeous, actually. Too gorgeous.
"I'll see you guys later. If I'm not back for dinner you already know what to do." She opens the door and walk out.
Her family has thing thing that if they arent back by dinner, the emergency protocol is initiated. Even if they send a message saying they will be late, they only have 5 minutes to get home before they call it.
I have her location so I'm not worried. How? Dont ask.
Catalina
I open the stable doors and get greeted by the ranch hands.
"Hey Cata. Should I get Leo tacked up?"
"No, it's ok. I want to do it." I smile at Junior.
Leo. My horse. My all time savior too. Hes a Friesian horse about 16 hands. I take his hair of its braid and grab his brush. I call Martin. I let it ring about 3 times before he answers.
"Marty. Come over, I'm going on a ride."
"I'll be there in like 5."
"Bye."
I hang up and continue brushing his hair. Leo's mane is a little past his leg and his tail is almost dragging on the floor. By the time Martin comes over I'm done with his mane almost half way done with the tail.
"Hey, ugly." Martin says loudly.
"Hi, rat." I give him a side hug.
He leaves his horse here most the time so all he had to do was walk here. He lives about 5 minutes away.
"Where my baby?" I point to her standing to the wall next to me.
Martin's horse is named Mamma. Shes a White Stallion with bright blue eyes and and long white hair with some streaks of black blended in. I finish brushing Leo's tail and grab his saddle pad. I dust it a bit before putting it on.
Then his saddle. I grab the two step stool I keep in here and get the saddle. I walk up the stool with the saddle in hand and put it on him. I then grab the cinch and tighten it. Tight enough where it wont fall off but comfortable enough for the horse.
I drop the stirrups on both sides and grab his bridle.
"What did Theo want?" Martin asks.
"My dad sold me off," I turn around to face him, "to Theo. Can you believe it? It's like as if he just had me to be sold off!"
He gives me a face of disbelief.
"No way. Did he tell you why?"
"Cause 'the businesses was failing,' " I put my hands up making quotation marks and roll my eyes. He scrunches his face. "I dont know either." I shrug.
I put his bridle on his face and then untie Leo. Martin was already ready and on his horse. "You ready?" He asks. "Let's go."
