FRIDAY

KIM

"Kim, the bus is nearly here." my mother warned me. I nodded, trying my best to finish my bowl of cereal as fast as I could. I placed my bowl and spoon in the sink, and hugged my mom. "Don't forget. You're staying with Dad for the weekend." she reminded. "Oh, right!" I exclaimed. I had completely forgotten. My parents had divorced when I was seven years old. They just could never get along. "Can you take Harry to Dad's while I'm at school?" I asked Mom. Harry was my pet turtle I had gotten right after the divorce. Mom and Dad had taken me to the pet store, and I picked him out. We'd been best friends since. She sighed. "Yes, I'll have to text your father to let him know." she said. "Thanks, Mom!" I exclaimed. She smiled. "No problem. When you come back here, we're going have crepes for breakfast." she informed me. I loved crepes with vanilla pudding, along with fresh blueberries and strawberries in the middle. "See you on Monday." I said, grabbing my backpack and my basketball duffle bag. I was Captain of the girls basketball team at Golden Oak High. I wasn't the most popular girl in school, but I was certainly well known. I got on the bus and sat in the middle row. I smiled as I tied my red hair into a ponytail. I could just tell that today was going a great day.

BRANDON

"Brandon, you don't wanna be late on your first day, do ya?" my 28 year old brother, Oliver, asked, shouting up the stairs. I walked down the stairs still wearing my pajamas. I so did not want to go to Golden Oak High School, but we had to move away, so I had no choice. Oliver looked at me weirdly, I looked over at him, feeling irritated at being woken up. "What?" I asked. He shrugged "Nothing. Are you seriously going to school like that?" he asked me, pointing at my black t-shirt and checkered pajama pants. "Of course, it's comfy." I responded "Right..." Oliver replied. Suddenly, he just sighed out of no where. "Look, I know things have been rough for you. Believe me, things have been for me too. But please, try not to get kicked out of school again." Oliver pleaded. I looked at my feet. I had a bad reputation across town for getting into trouble and for goofing off in class. I guess you could call me a class clown who tried hanging with the cool dudes, and I get mixed up into things I should never got mixed up in. I simply nodded. "Good. Get in my car, I'll drive you to school." Oliver said.

KIM

My first three classes, history, English, and Science, were the same as any day, and lunch was enjoyable. I sat with the rest of the girls basketball team. "I'm so nervous about the big game next month!" Rachelle exclaimed. Rachelle was our newest member, and had not been playing basketball as long as other who had showed up for tryouts last spring. But what Rachelle lacked in experience, she more than made up for in boosted morale, and skill. Rachelle could get almost anyone to smile when they had a rough day. I thought back on when I had first tried out for the girls team. I had been the shortest candidate, but I had the most experience and skill. I still am the shortest player, standing in at 5' 3" tall. "Don't sweat it, Rachelle. Just get out there and try your best!" I said, giving her a warm smile.

"I just hope people will come." Tiana, our tallest player said, crossing her arms. Nicole sighed. "Honestly, more people show up to the boys basketball games!" she exclaimed. "I've heard they say it's because when they play it feels 'more intense'." Kennedy pouted. Rachelle and I stood up suddenly. "Come on, guys. Either people show up, or they don't. Either way, we're there to have fun!" she said. "Rachelle's right! Just have fun whether there's people or not. But we can try sharing details about the game on social media, so hopefully our audience will grow." I said. The bell rang and I made my way to Math class. I was the first to arrive, after the teacher, Mr. Dillon, of course. I sat in my usual spot, and waited for the rest of my class. After the rest of class arrived, I noticed an extra desk beside me. Did we have a new student today? I didn't see anyone new. Maybe they got lost? Mr. Dillon cleared his throat. "Good afternoon, class. As you may have noticed we have an extra desk. We have a new student today who-."
