Chapter Nine: A New Day

Emily and Seokjin were the first two people to wake up. Of course, Emily was still a blushing mess about the way Seokjin woke her up, but she ignored it as she watched him cook breakfast for her. It was around 8 am, way earlier than what he was used to. As he cooked, Emily couldn't help but glance down at his boxers, blushing hard.

Seokjin was only in his (brand new pair of)boxers, the slight chub in the front was making Emily get distracted. Emily briefly wondered about the older vampire, wondering if he has ever been with others in the bedroom. He was almost 30 years old, so he probably was. Emily kept it in, but she felt a bit jealous at the thought of Seokjin being in bed with someone else. Sometimes she forgets that these beautiful vampires were her mates. Emily was still getting used to feeling this fullness in her heart, this energy that wasn't her own. She felt like the world was more colorful around her. Emily couldn't really explain it. She was reeling from all these emotions and feelings that have been dumped on her in such a short time.

"Emily? Hello??" Seokjin asked, laughing softly when her eyes went back into focus on him. "You okay? I kinda lost you there." Seokjin smiled, his eyes squinting and his cheeks bunching up. "I made your food. Go on and eat while I change."

Emily nodded, her cheeks flushed in embarrassment. She began to eat her food, humming in appreciation. It was an American style breakfast with bacon, eggs, sausages. Seokjin paired it with buttered up toast and some jam. Emily would usually combine all the food together, but she decided to eat it all separately.

Halfway through her meal, Emily heard shuffling behind her and saw Yoongi slowly making his way into the kitchen. He stopped behind her and simply kissed her forehead before making it to the fridge to make himself a drink. It was an ice Americano mixed with some of her blood. Emily couldn't really understand why he would still wanna drink a human beverage, even if it was mixed in with blood. "Morning Yoongi." She said as she finished her food, watching as he sipped at his drink.

Yoongi didn't say anything for awhile before he grunted. "Morning." He said back, his voice raspy from sleep. He finally plopped down next to Emily and wordlessly leaned his head on her shoulder.

Emily stiffened up a bit before relaxing, a smile forming on her face when she felt Yoongi breathe into her neck. She rubbed her cheek against his hair before going back to eating, trying to not jostle the sleepy vampire. Even when she finished eating, Emily stayed in her seat and scooted closer to Yoongi, letting him rest on her shoulder. Emily mindlessly carded her fingers through his hair, feeling him nuzzle closer to her.

The next to wake up was Hoseok, who made his bed and cleaned his portion of the room before stepping out. He was greeted by the smell of his mate, his eyes glowing brightly before he tried to school his expression. Hoseok was still too prideful to apologize; the vampire in him refusing to see the problem that he caused. He walked into the kitchen and found Emily cuddling with a sleeping Yoongi on her shoulder.

Emily tensed up when she saw Hoseok come in, her hand stilling in messing with Yoongi's hair. The kitchen grew tense when they both made eye contact, Emily refusing to truly show how fearful she got when memories resurfaced of her attack. Emily finally looked away and focused on Yoongi again, nearly clutching his hair.

Hoseok didn't want to admit that he felt hurt when he heard her heartbeat spike up and grow erratic. I don't get why you're so hurt. You did this to yourself. He thought bitterly to himself, a scowl forming on his face. He felt a spike of jealousy shoot through him as he watched Emily affectionately run her fingers through Yoongi's hair. That could've been us if you had just swallowed your pride and try to apologize. Hoseok simply turned away and began to make himself a coffee with blood infused, unintentionally slamming his cup down too hard and causing his glass to break.
