Trapped

Chapter 1

"Right," Eddie said, entering the office and placing a pile of paperwork onto the desk in front of Rachel.

"What's this?" she asked, looking up at him with a slightly confused look etched into her expression.

"Reports of all the major behavioural incidents, last half term, and i've also written a list of the pupils who feature most," he explained, passing her a piece of paper covered in scribbled writing, which she assumed was the list of pupils names.

She quickly scanned through the names reminding herself of the various times the students had been sent to her office. There was one name in particular that she wasn't too familiar with.

"Katie Evans?"she said, "what's she done, i haven't been informed of any major incidents involving her."

"Its not about the severity with her, it's the amount of things she's involved in," Eddie began, "little things you know," he continued, " and Kim says that teachers are always queuing outside her door ready to express concerns involving her."

"What sort of concerns?" Rachel asked.

"They say that she's been acting differently, acting up, it's not like her, I mean I'm starting to notice it in my class now and not to mention her grades are slipping," Eddie explained.

"Right, well i'll make sure to keep a close eye on her, and try to catch her for a conversation," Rachel said, "thanks Eddie."

A smile spread across her lips as their eyes met before Eddie placed a kiss on her forehead and left the office. They had been seeing each other for a little over a month now and Rachel hated to admit it because she really liked him, and being the cold hearted headteacher everyone thought she was, she was adamant to keep their little secret until she knew for definite that they were a forever thing.

The small smile continued to play at her lips as she continued to read through the files that Eddie had given her. There were a handful of students who seemed to be the main suspects in these incidents and she promised herself to remain vigilant for any more of their involvement and that if she caught them in the corridor she would have a stern word reminding them of the potential consequences of their continuing involvement.

As the bell rang signalling the end of break, Eddie quickly entered the office, giving her a smile, before retrieving some exercise books and leaving for his classroom. She continued on with the paperwork she was currently doing for the LEA as lunch began to near. Just as she thought that the lessons were nearly over, Alesha came running into her office, informing her of a fight that had broken out in Eddie's class. She sprang from behind her desk, making her way swiftly to the classroom in question, just in time for her to see Eddie prying Katie off of Michaela who has a stream of blood dripping down from her nose.

"She started on me miss!" Michaela shouted, as Katie was being held back by Eddie.

"Both of you, my office now!" Rachel shouted.

Michaela was quick to leave the classroom, as Katie, who was still being held by Eddie, breathed heavily, obviously enraged with anger, before finally snapping back to the situation, realising that Mr Lawson was still gripping her arms.

"Get off me!" she shouted, pulling her arms from his grip.

"My office now," Rachel said in a more gentle tone than before.

Katie walked out of the room, as Rachel pulled Eddie into the corridor for a quiet word.

"What the hell happened?" she asked.

"Michaela said something, i didn't quite catch it, and Katie lost," Eddie started, " i thought i managed to get it under control, but the minute i let go of katie, she just lunged at Michaela again" he explained.
