"She's yours?" Eddie questioned.

"My daughter Eddie," she said as tears raised down her cheeks.

"I don't," Eddie began, "so you gave her to- I- I don't understand, how- how you didn't know."

"She- I," Rachel stuttered, "things got complicated Eddie, he threatened me- he threatened us, said he'd kill both me and the baby if I didn't giggle it to him and leave."

"And what you just handed her over like that?" Eddie questioned, finding it somewhat unbelievable that Rachel would just give up a child so easily.

"You don't know what he was like Eddie," she said tears now falling more frequently, "he's so violent, he - he tried to kill her when- and then.

"Hey," Eddie said looking at her sympathetically, " shh just breathe."

"Eddie," she continued to cry, " I left her with a man whose capable of anything Eddie, w-what- what sort of mother does that?"

"A scared one."

"I tried, I tried to find her, but I couldn't," she said, her crying subsiding.

"What do you want to do?" Eddie asked.

"I- I don't know," she admitted.

"I'll send her to the cooler for a bit," Eddie said, "but us some time to think."

"Thank you Eddie."

He exited the office, before quickly returning.

"She's not there," he said.

Rachel sighed, making her way to the window to calm herself down before having to look for the girl.

"Eddie" she said he's Turing towards the window.

Quickly, he made his way to near where she was standing and followed her gaze to where Katie was leaving the school gates.

"Quickly," Eddie said, " if we hurry we can catch her." They both made their way to the car park before getting into Eddie's car. It took them a while to get through the large crowds of students who were blocking the road kicking about footballs, and doing other various things.

As they made it out of the school gates Rachel was frantically looking around for any signs of the girl.

"She might be headed home," Eddie suggested.

Rachel pulled out a piece of paper that she had shoved in her pocket which contained the address of the girl.

"This way," she pointed, as she directed Eddie towards the address.

After about 15 minutes, due to a couple of wrong terms into dead ends, they had finally arrived at the address. Rachel jumped out of the car, Eddie following in close pursuit.

As they neared the house in question, Eddie pulled Rachel back. Inside one of the downstairs windows the silhouette of a man welding a knife.

"Shit," Rachel muttered.

That's when a second, smaller fugue came into view, Katie.

"I'm going to call the police," Eddie stated, pulling his phone out of his pocket.

As Eddie relayed information down the phone, Rachel payed close attention to the scene unfolding in front of her. She couldn't loose her daughter, not only knowing that it was her for less than an hour.
