On the way there Kyle hummed a song I knew from my father. Hunter's Song. I smiled sadly at the memory of me and him at my bonfire with a drum and an old guitar. "Where did you learn that song Kyle?" I asked finally. He glanced at me in surprise. I raised an eyebrow when he shrugged. I waited longer before he sighed. "I was five when my own father taught me it. I was a fast learner because when I hit six I knew that song by heart. Me and my father always sung out when we hunt together..." He trailed off, a crease formed between his brows. I flinch knowing of hard memories. I opened my mouth to tell him that he doesn't have to continue when he spoke. "Ever since he was murdered I couldn't stop blaming myself for it. Because..... Because the day before we had a fight. He threatened me saying he had the right to kill me for being who I am. I asked him who he thought I was. He said a monster. I lunged at him catching him off guard. That was the night I found out I was a sorcerer. I left him for dead Ed. I killed him." Sobs racked his body. I lifted my hand to put out on his shoulder when he spun and was right in my face. "DON'T YOU EVER TOUCH ME."
