(Still Dahlia's perspective)
I didn't get much sleep that night, my mind was still racing after my encounter with Xavier. He made me feel comfortable in a completely new place. I felt like a schoolgirl, giggling and twirling my hair when I thought of him. He seemed so perfect to me. The way he looked at me, way he lightly rubbed his thumb on my hand made me want to just kiss him. I wondered if he also felt that way about me, but I told myself to hang onto reality, I couldn't have my head in the clouds all the time.
Just as I was trying to finally go to sleep, my alarm went off. Fuck. I had gotten barely any sleep.
Eventually I got up and started to shower. I used plain bar soap and some conditioner I brought with me. I did my skincare, and makeup and sprayed some perfume on me. Enid was getting ready next to me, putting pink eyeshadow on her lid and some lip gloss on. Wednesday wasn't in the dorm though, which confused me. "Hey where'd Wednesday go?" I asked concerned. "She left to go and be by herself. She's not a people person and shes also mad at me right now" Enid replied. "Oh why is she mad?" I asked "She thinks you and I are going to become better friends than me and her" Enid answered. "Oh I'm not trying to take your guys friendship away" I said apologetically "Its not you, she's just kinda paranoid. Plus she doesn't get to decide who I'm friends with, and you are a good friend" Enid said and smiled at me. It felt good that Enid considered me a friend, but I was worried that Wednesday would feel left out. After all, I was new and her and Enid were friends first. That shouldn't matter though, we can still all be friends. I didn't respond to Enid, I just smiled at her. " We should probably get to class, whats your first period?" Enid asked me. "Umm something botany?" I said confused. "Oh great we have that together!" Enid said cheerfully. I responded with a big smile and a side hug. We both started walking out our dorm and to Botany, taught by Ms. Thornhill. Enid sat in her assigned seat and mouthed "sorry!" as I awkwardly stood in the middle of the row. "There's a spot open next to me" a voice from behind me said, and I recognized it immediately. It was none other than Xavier. I slowly walked over to where he was sitting and sat down next to him. He was drawing something, but before I could get a good look at what it was he closed his notebook. "So are you gonna tell me your name?" He asked as he turned to face me. I contemplated it for a second before I started to say "Okay fine you got me, my name is..." and then Ms. Thornhill cut me off. "Everyone this is our new student, Dahlia, I trust you all will give her a warm welcome to Nevermore" I glared at Ms. Thornhill and Xavier just looked at me and giggled. "I like your name, Dahlia" Xavier said with a smirk. I lightly hit his shoulder and he grabbed it, pretending he was hurt. We both let out a little laugh, looking at each other through the corners of our eyes. "Ahem, do you have something you'd like to share with the class, Xavier and Dahlia?" Ms. Thornhill said. catching us both off guard. "We were just discussing the wonderful world of Carnivorous plants, weren't we, Dahlia?" Xavier said while winking at me. "Yes of course, we were just discussing how marvelous the Venus flytrap is Ms. Thornhill." I said. Ms. Thornhill eyed us suspiciously but accepted our made up reason. "Back to your workbooks, pages 45-49" Thornhill called out. I winked at Xavier and returned to my notebook, coping down notes for class. As the day went by, I realized that Nevermore was okay, but they also had weird classes. First off, Botany is not a usual high school class, and neither is potions class, or spell class. Different outcasts had different classes. For me, being a witch, I had potions, spells, and enchantment. It felt weird. At lunchtime I didn't know where to sit, I hated being the new girl. "Dahlia, I like that name" I turned around to see Xavier smirking. "Oh shut up" I replied. "No, I will not shut up Dahlia, in fact now I must ask you to sit with me." Xavier said in his best royal voice. "Why not" I said and sat down next to him. "You look pretty today" He whispered in my ear, so no one else could here it. "You don't look horrible yourself" I whispered back. We casually flirted while whispering throughout that lunch period. After lunch I had math. I hate math. Emphasis on hate. I walked into the math room and was assigned a seat next to Wednesday. Throughout the class, I wrote notes trying to figure out how quadratic equations work. I turned to the side to ask Wednesday for help but she was side eyeing me. Right before I walked out of class she shoved a note in my pocket that read "I know what your doing, I won't let it happen, You cannot have Enid" It was so emotionless, so monotone. I wasn't trying to take Enid away from her, I was just being nice. Right then I realized why she was so jealous. They must like each other, and I must've made them have a little gf fight. I didn't want them to fight and to be honest Enid and Wednesday would be so cute together, the would just totally balance each other out. I smiled at the thought of them together, but I had to quickly get to my next class. My last few classes were boring and I didn't pay much attention to them. Soon enough I was back in my dorm. I took a shower and got into comfy clothes before I started my homework. Just after I began studying I heard a knock on the door. I opened it and to my surprise it was neither Enid or Wednesday. "Xavier?" I asked. "Dahlia, can we talk?" Xavier said.
Ahh cliffhanger!!!I actually low key dont hate this but please leave suggestions and requests in the comments<33
