Chapter 一

               (One)

"The one rule of Ninja Arts that I'll be teaching you is simple. When you draw your sword, your opponents die. The reason for such brutality is simple, every weapon known now was never originally meant for killing; All except the sword, the weapon that was born to slay it's enemy."

- Kasai Kenta

Like every other morning Kasai Hairi was awoken by her mental alarm clock, which told her the time was around dawn. In order to achieve her dream, she woke early every morning and practiced her chakra control and aim. And like every other morning, Mei was awake and preparing for her morning shift at the hospital.

"Good morning, Mei-senpai." The blond looked at her, nodded before rushing even more to gather her supplies before rushing out the door without saying another word. It didn't matter how much times Kenta told her to shrug it off, being ignored by her family was something she couldn't ignore.

Kenta was passed out in his room. Once again, no longer surprising. He slept through the day so he had time to drink during the night, though he cut down half his liquor supply. Hairi showered and changed into a crop top, one piece suit that stopped at her thighs with a fishnet full body suit and traditional ninja sandals.

The ocean-eyed student then got out all of her weapons; kunai, throwing needles, her special jutte, her all too important Wakizashi and sharpened them all, which took around 1 hour. When all of the preparation was completed, she ventured out to the training fields. It was empty sans for the chirping birds who had finally awakened.

It had been 5 years since Kenta had officially adopted her so she was officially thirteen of this day. It was something she was excited about, especially considering the circumstances of the other major event happening today. A test was taking place today, a simple written test. It was assessing the student's brain power; their heaven.

Now that she thought about it, Hairi wasn't sure why she was improving her ninja abilities. It was her routine though, a schedule she was used to. With enough aim to rival the prodigy in the Academy, Uchiha Sasuke. Of course, in every other aspect he was perfectly perfect.

"He pisses me off," Hairi murmured to herself before rapidly equipping her fingers with needles and influencing them with her chakra, just before she threw it at the target on the log far away from her. "I don't know why though."

The ginger groaned and tried to clear her mind. Anger didn't help fighting at all. "Focus." She whispered to herself before inhaling deeply, holding it for a second, and then exhaling. At the same time she had thrown her needles, satisfied when it pierced through the log and landed into the body of water behind it.

'That's a good girl. Now, try with those pesky kunai and then we'll move on transformation and chakra control.' Kenta had given her hints about specific jutsu's in the ninja life, although the only thing he thoroughly taught her in was how to wield his chokuto's sister sword, the wakizashi. Chakra control was something Hairi had prided herself in.

Unknown to her though, someone had just turned around when he saw someone else was training in his go-to training field. He recognized her straight away, her red hair being a dead giveaway. No one else had such loud hair nor vibrant. Sakura was the only potential hair rival she had.

'At least one girl is serious about her ninja training.' He thought before leaving and giving her some privacy. 'Kasai Hairi. The female prodigy of the year.' After deciding she wasn't worth his thoughts, he began his own training.
