I rise this morning with a pounding headache and not a single memory of what happened last night. The only thing I could recall was the moment we arrived at the nightclub and then my first two cocktails of alcohol and finally me dancing with a guy. I scrunched up my nose as the memories starts flooding back in. Oh man, I was wild yesterday I would have rather not remember anything at all tant all those embarrassing memories.

I groaned and rolled around, trying to find a comfortable position for my aching mind and body. I knew I wasn't at my apartment when I mustered up the bravery to open my eyes. I glanced around the spacious bedroom and started to panic. The other side of the bed was also messed up and a pair of slippers was at the door.

The room had a really great view over the countryside of Madrid. I could see the huge infinity pool. The other side of the room was dedicated to what I supposed was a closet and a bathroom. Of course, everything was spotless and luxurious.

I looked all around for my phone or anything else that could have been able to inform me where I was. I then noticed a glass of water with some tablet and a bite next to it. I grinned while reading the note that was stick on the nightstand, it was so sweet but made me questions tons of things

"I went to the training, take this and make yourself at home. I'll be back around 12am". Of course, it was signed Joao, I should have guess that.

My heart and mind were racing. What in the world happened last night? What was I doing at Joao's ? And why did I have his shirt on ? Did we have sex ?
I stood up and went straight to the bathroom, trying to look for any condom, and noticed, thank to the mirror, that I looked like a mess. My hair was everywhere and my makeup was smudged like I was beaten by a dog. Gross.

After my shower, I went into Joao's closet and tried to find some clothes that could fit me. I found a pair jogging and a shirt. They were somewhat large, but okay. My first instinct after finding my phone was to call Gabriela and check the time. It was 10:35am and naturally, she didn't reply, so I texted her instead.

ASTRID
GABRIELA !!!!
ASTRID
call me as soon as you see my text !!

I made my way downstairs and explore a bit of his house. Getting lost a number of times I can't even count, yet I still managed to find where the food was. I took some chips and made my way to what I supposed was his cinema room to put on a movie. After an hour into the movie, i saw an incoming call from Gabriela. I immediately answered and left the room to go sit on a deck chair outside.

"Madre mía, it took you so long to respond, what were you doing ?" I asked her.

"Well, I'm at Rodrigo's, so you guess" she chuckled

"Alright, I don't need to hear more. But I need you to light me up on this. Why am I at Joao's place ? And why did I sleep in his bed? And why is he so nice all of a sudden when he was literally not looking at me last night ?"

"Well hum... First of all, we both got pretty drunk yesterday, and you started dancing with this weird guy, Joao kept looking at you with a death stare, like damn this man has murder thoughts. Next, the guy you were dancing with almost kidnapped you but, Joao took his chance and came to rescue you and decided it was time for you to go home, but I was too drunk to tell him where we lived so he told Rodrigo he was bringing you to his house and that's all I know"

"Okay I'm never drinking EVER again" I heard her and Rodrigo's giggle in the background and Rodrigo added :

"You know that I know where you guys live and I disappeared on purpose so he didn't have any other choice. He didn't seem annoyed at all to bring you home,by the way." though I could nearly make out his smirk through the phone, I chose to remain silent because, even if it's a bit awkward, the situation could be worse, and he could have hated me even more.

"Ro, I swear I hate you, you've put me in a very uncomfortable position now, what am I going to say when he comes back ?" That was a total lie, I'm more than happy to be in his house, cause it's stunning, might even settle here now.

"love you, bye !" I looked at my phone speechless, they just hang up on me. I supposed they have better things to do, if you know what I mean. I stayed outside a bit to get some sun and some fresh air. Why would Joao have practice when Paul is clearly at home not carrying at all ?

About an hour later, I heard keys and then the door being open. I turned off the TV and made my way out of the room. Finding myself face to face with Joao. He promptly started the conversation while beginning to prepare us lunch, as I awkwardly stood there, not knowing what to say in such an embarrassing situation for me.

"So, how are you feeling ? You were pretty wasted last night."

"I'm good. By the way, I appreciate you letting me crash. He turned to face me and I forced a smile. "It was nice of you,"

"No problem, I had no other choice anyway." He responded, getting back to his spaghetti and boiling water.

"Do you want me to leave? I could just call an Uber and got back to my apartment if I'm disturbing you."

He said, shrugging his shoulders, "I don't really mind." I was ready to argue when he interrupted, saying, "Really, you know, I get lonely sometimes. So having you around is actually good," he paused on the last word, trying to avoid making eye contact.

"Thank you, I guess. I admit that this place is kinda nice"

"if you want to, you can come whenever you want. I don't mind, we're friends now. Right ?" he told me, scratching the back of his neck..

"I would love to" I said, now genuinely smiling. The stage of awkwardness was behind me

"Do you need some help with your food ?" I finally entered the kitchen, trying to fight my emotions.

"Could you get me the pesto, in the fridge?" he pointed to the fridge's emplacement and told me, "I'm going to the match at 5, so I could drop you to your flat before I go. I will see you at the end of the match anyway?"

"That would be great, I don't even know what to do to thank you now!" He laughed and shrugged it off like it was nothing.

"Since I don't know you that much, we should get to know each other. With questions ! You ask one first, go" he looked at me weirdly but agreed anyway.

"Why did you move to Madrid, Astrid ?" My heart fell to my stomach. I was trapped in my own game. I didn't feel like opening up to a stranger. Especially to a guy like him. Plus, I just met him, I wouldn't want to disturb him with my problems. After a couple minutes of silence. I realized that he was still waiting for me to answer.

chapter 3 ! Think imma do a whole chapter on those questions 🤣🤣.

What do you think about Joao's and Astrid's relations now ?

Will they get closer ? Idk, maybe.
