George awoke from his slumber. He saw the polaroid picture on his kitchen counter. The smile Dream had, his nose scrunched, and freckles peppering his pretty face.
Now was about the time George would receive a package from the mysterious sender. But.. nothing was here? It wasn't like there were harsh conditions outside, just a tad bit of snow here and there, but nothing totally extreme..
George sat in front of his TV, watching whatever was on. He hoped that he would still receive packages, but nothing was delivering.
He got up from his couch and slid into the kitchen. He dug through his cabinets and fridge until he stumbled across a hamburger helper meal.
"Cheeseburger macaroni? It'll do for now.. I guess" George said as he read the back of the box. He added everything together and finally finished the meal (which felt like forever)
He grabbed the white bowl and sat down on his couch before grabbing his remote and flipping through channels. He finally decided on a movie called 'midsommar' since two of his friends, Connor and Hannah had reccomended it.
He thought the movie was wholesome until he got towards the middle. He widened his eyes and furrowed his brows in confusion.
He rewinded the movie trying to figure out what happened. He gave in and continued to watch the movie.
He soon finished the movie and his food and decided that he should probably try to head to bed. He thought that he had spent his day wisely and that he couldn't have done anything better.
He stared at the jar on his kitchen counter. It had pearly green stamps in it, a couple daises scattered here and there.
He thought about it.. what happened to the mysterious sender? He shrugged it off and decided he would just head to bed.
George woke up in a place that was not his apartment. Rather like a small cabin, or cottage.
He jumped out of bed to see Patches by his side. She was meowing and wagging her long tail back and forth.
George decided before he'd worry about her, he'd explore around this unfamiliar place. The floor was wooden and looked like birch wood.
The walls were a crème colour and they were decorated with paintings. Some had flowers and others had animals.
One had a rose coloured elephant. George thought it was pretty. Another one had.. the daises. In a green and blue striped vase.
George was familiar with that one, as it was in his apartment hallway, and the nice lady's coffee shop. He smiled when he saw it.
The bed was a canopy bed, with white lace curtains all around the tops. George believed there were fairy lights there too, but he couldn't tell.
There were plants on shelves and desks in every corner. There were a couple candles and books in different areas.
He decided to explore the kitchen area, and maybe the living room.
The kitchen had two windows. One was connected to a door leading towards a backyard maybe. Another was above the sink. They both had lacy curtains just like the canopy bed.
There were shelves on the walls in the kitchen too. They all had plates, bowls, mugs, and a tea kettle and some teacups.
There were some planets scattered around, but not very many. Whoever lived here was certainly a plant person. There was a radio sat on the kitchen table. It was blue and the speaker was shaped as a star.
It played a sweet tune at a low volume. It was the song he had sung the other day photograph.. he thought it was just playing the radio, since the song was quite popular.
He hurried down the hallway and realized he was going the opposite was of the living room, so George turned around and walked into the room.
He felt a happy wave wash over him after he had walked into the room. There was a dim light lit and it was a couple candles. Sarcoline candles! George felt a feeling of déjà vu.
"Hmm.." he said as he admired the candles. He suddenly smelt a familiar scent. It was Dreams cologne! He tried to follow the scent out of the living room and it led him outside. He couldn't trace the smell any longer.
He saw a flower field. It had daises. A lot of daises. He saw Patches wandering into the field and decided he would follow her.
She noticed he was behind her and she picked up her speed leading George to the place she had been trying to show him.
Patches led George to a small spot in the field. A man was laying there and he was holding a letter. His eyes were shut and it looked like he wasn't breathing.
Spoiler alert, he wasn't.
George crouched down beside of him. He didn't recognize the man at first but now he realized, it was Dream.
Dreams freckles still sat peppered on his face. His hair still sat waved back in a perfect way, his lips still a rosy pink. But he wasn't still here.
Yeah, he was here, but he wasn't here.
George slowly took the letter from Dreams hands. The fountain pen sat on Dreams chest. The letter hadn't been stamped yet, it was still in perfect condition.
The letter read in nicely written letters..
"Wait for me to come home.."
Georges eyes started to leak. The tears came pouring out. Dream was gone. He couldn't talk to him anymore, he couldn't make any more memories. He couldn't do anything with Dream again.
George laid his head down on Dreams chest. Sobs left his mouth. Patches was laying on the other side of Dream, her tail flapping slowly as she slept.
Dream had a couple candles around him and a couple flowers around him.
Sarcoline candles and daises.
It was Dream, it was always him.
George sat by Dream for a while until he fell asleep again.
He woke up in his apartment as usual and just laid in his bed. He finally got up and stumbled into his kitchen.
He stopped when he saw the photo frame. He saw Dreams smile and it made him tear up again. He saw the jar of stamps, the fake daises, the blue bracelet, he smiled at all the memories he'd never forget.
