As time went on, Jungwon felt room comfortable with Jay around.
It'd been well over a month since Jungwon woke up. Jay didn't have to sneak into the hospital whenever Heeseung wasn't there, which was a plus for everyone.
Jungwon waited impatiently in his hospital bed, staring at the analog clock across the room with his arms crossed. The clock struck 9 AM. He wasn't in the mood to play on his Switch or phone. He just wanted someone to talk to- and that someone was late.
The silence was interrupted by footsteps and panting. Jungwon turned his head to face the door as he watched Sunoo and Niki run in, out of breathe.
"Sorry.. Hyung.. New.. Receptionist.. Didn't let us in.." Niki gasped, in between breathes.
The duo didn't wait for a reply as they found their way over to the couch and seat next to Jungwon.
"Oh, really? A new receptionist didn't let you come visit for an hour? Seriously?"
Sunoo nodded. Jungwon waited for the two to catch their breath before listening to the explanation.
"Apparently, she almost didn't let us come visit you because she thought we were here to cause 'trouble'" Sunoo exaggerated, using air quotes.
"She was all like, 'I'm gonna call security if you delinquents don't leave!'" Niki says, acting out the situation.
"And why did she think you guys were delinquents, as she so calls it?" Jungwon asks.
"Because we dressed like this, Niki brought his skateboard, and because I had this band aid on my face from when I fell." Sunoo explains.
The duo were wearing casual attire, unlike their clean, professional, college uniforms. Jungwon just nodded.
"What about the others? Are they coming today too, or just you two?" Jungwon asks.
"Just us today. Sunghoon had practice, Heeseung is stuck at campus for some reason, Jake was forced to stay with Heeseung, and Jay is somewhere. He didn't say."
Jungwon nodded, slightly disappointed. Sunoo and Niki noticed this and smirked towards one another.
"Y'know, Jay thinks you are the cutest boy he ever met." Sunoo says, watching as Jungwon blushed, enjoying the sight. Niki just nodded along.
Although it was true that Jay thought Jungwon was the cutest boy he ever met, Sunoo liked to joke around.
"Oh yeah, he said you look cute when you're grumpy." Niki added, noticing the significant red hue darken in Jungwon's face.
The duo continued to boast about how highly Jay speaks of Jungwon while the latter got lost in thought.
Does he really think this highly of me? Even after I pushed him away so many times?
Why is he so patient with me?
What did I do for him to be in my life like this?
Then, Jungwon had an idea.
"Can you two tell me some stories of Jay?"
The duo looked at one another, not sure what to do. When they looked back at Jungwon, he gave them puppy eyes, much to their despair. Sunoo sighed, "Fine... Which should we tell him first?" Niki thought about it, "How about when they first met?"
"Yes, please. Tell me." Jungwon insisted.
"Well, I think you guys met on the first day of high school."
