(Marco POV)

The bus stops at Model High School and I see all of my teammates shuffle out the door, along with a few brags here and there about our win.

I go to get up, and carefully place Jacob's head back on his seat, and put his earbud back in his ear. I give the bus driver a wave to not leave yet, as I'm not ready.

I write my number down on the Dr Pepper label, set it on the windowsill, and step back to see my masterpiece.

I give Jacob a small head pat and a wave and I get off the bus. My teammates didn't bother waiting for me and are already heading inside the school.

Smiling, I walk inside and see the rest of the 11th graders in our hallway lined up on the lockers for a clap out. I give a few of my friends high fives as the school gets ready to release car riders.

Everyone hurries back in their classrooms, while I get to my locker and put my hockey bag inside.

The intercom states after school activities, and congratulates us on our win. But somehow, I can't really think about anything else but Jacob. I honestly don't care that we won, I'm just glad I met him again.

I still remember, 8th grade year summer camp, Jacob Adler. It was his first time being a C.I.T (Counselor in Training), and I was in charge of showing him all around campus. He was one year younger than me.

I was kind of upset that he didn't remember me, and I almost called him by his name a few times before I forgot I had to ask. It's not like I'm hiding the fact I know him, I kinda just want him to figure it out himself.

He's so cute when he tries to focus on stuff.

I'm really glad I met him again, and I'm really glad that we actually got to talk this time.

I kinda already knew I had some in common with him, because I would see him drawing Chibi Chino Moreno at lunch during peak camp weeks. I would have tried to make conversation, but honestly, I was too scared. My social anxiety was at its finest in those years.

I start walking down to the school's back doors to the parking lot when I see our coach, Michelle.

I loved Michelle. She was the best coach I'd ever had, and she wanted us to not only be good at hockey, but enjoy playing. She really wanted what was best for us.

        She starts walking with me.

"Hey, Marc! How do you feel after that game? I almost forgot to ask, you came in after everyone else!" she said, patting me on the back.

"Oh, yeah. I had to say bye to my friend. From the other team."

"Oh, thank god someone can get along with them! They're really nice people. I'm glad you made a friend." She says, smiling.

"Thanks. His name's Jacob. I met him a few years ago actually, but I don't think he remembers me."

"Ah, bummer. But I'm sure he'll get to know you even better this time, I promise! Also, I'm really proud of you for getting that last shot from the game! It was really nice."

"Yeah. Thanks, Michelle." I say, as I wave goodbye to her and open the back doors.

I walk out to my car, and open the passenger seat to put my school bags in. I get in the driver's side and wait for my friend, Daniel, to walk out of the school.

Daniel has been my friend since 9th grade, but we're not the best of friends. I'll be honest, he kind of gets tiring to hang out with after an hour or two. He doesn't like the same stuff I do, and he gets mad at people too quickly.
