Mike's POV:
I'm only 19, and i'm checking my guitar to make sure it's ready for MY show. It's crazy how I've reached my biggest goal already, well... my second biggest goal. I almost reached that, but that was a long time ago. At least it feels like a long time ago.
My security guards bang on my door three times and do the same to the others to let us know that it's time.
M: "Alright!"
"God..." *annoyedThe security guards Dustin and Lucas have been my friends since I can remember, and when I told them I wanted to be a musician, they said they would stick by my side. They meant it. We've gone through some crazy shit together.
I walk out with my band. Steve the bass player, Robin the drummer, and me, the lead singer and guitarist.
M: "You guys ready?"
S & R: "Yup"
We get on stage, the whole place is pitch black.
*click*
The spotlight turns on me, and it sheds a bit of light into the front of the audience. That's when I see him. That's when I see Will. Will's POV:
*8 hours before*
Me, my brother Jonathan, and his best friend Argyle all share an apartment. I turned 19 recently and moved out of our mom's, we thought it would be cheaper if I just stayed with them and split the rent up.
Today, Jonathan thought it would be nice to get me out of the house for once.W: "I don't know why we have to go to this stupid concert anyway. I mean, I've never even heard of the band."
J: "The Mind Slayers are kind of new, but they're good...Trust me."
W: "Fine, I'll go, but only because I'm pretty sure their name is D&D related. If they're bad, then I'm never trusting you again." *jokingly*
J: "Yeah, right." *sarcasticly*
"Oh- and we have to pick El up before we head over there"W: "Ok"
El is our sister, not by blood, but she's still our sister. She still lives with mom and dad, well, technically, he's our stepdad, but I don't think of him like that. My dad, Jim Hopper, took my sister in because she had no home or family. El had an extremely rough childhood that I can't even explain. Because of that, she missed grades K-8 and now has to make them up before she can get a workers permit.
*pulling into the driveway of the Byers house - Jonathan and Will go inside*
E: "Hiiii!"
W: "Hey!"
*Will and El hug*
J: "Hey El!"
*El walks over to hug Jonathan*
We haven't seen each other in a few months since me and Jonathan live a couple hours away. I'm happy to see her, I was hoping that my mom and dad would be here, but El said they both had to work late. We get back in the car and head to the concert.
We're a few hours early, Argyle is waiting for us inside. After waiting for the 100 plus people in front of us to get their wristbands, we finally get ours. There's not many people on the floor where we're going to be, most of them are up sitting in seats. Argyle and Jonathan like to listen to music as loud as they can, so they wanna be as close to the stage as possible. I've been sitting on the floor for about an hour, talking to a nice couple that had sat down next to me. I notice a crowd of people flooding in, and I get up to avoid being crushed. The big digital clock above me says 7:56 pm, the show starts in a few minutes.
I can hear loud and echoey footsteps coming from the stage, getting closer. They stop, and it becomes quiet for a moment. And then...
*click* a spotlight hit the stage and blinds me for a second as the music starts. My eyes finally refocus. That's when I see him. That's when I see Mike.
