Nikki: "You know what, Jasmine? I think Shawn likes you. Don't act like you don't know what I'm talking about. I saw him in the side mirror blowing you a kiss." Jasmine: "Girl, bye. You're overreacting." We all burst out laughing. "Okay, you got me. I like him a little too. But too bad he doesn't go to our college though." I turned to Nikki. "You know something, don't you? I need details, spill the beans."
Nikki: "Okay, okay, I'll give you details. He does go to our college, but I didn't know who he was or what his first name is until now. That's all I know. I swear on my coffee." Laughter filled the air again.
Jasmine: "Girl, stop being addicted to caffeine. Stop swearing over your coffee; it has ears, you know." Laughter erupted once more. "Oh god, Nik, I pray for you." I playfully pushed her.
After zooming through the student parking lot, I parked next to Nikki's Jeep, turned off my truck, and we all got out. I pushed the lock button on my key fob, and together, we entered the elevator. As soon as the door opened, we departed later. I went into our dorm room, grabbing my bags because we had a basketball game tonight.
I attended all my classes early and later joined my teammates for practice. Originally scheduled to leave practice at 6:50 pm, the coach made us stay until 7:30 pm. Taking my time walking back to the gym, we all headed into the showers, preparing for the upcoming basketball game. The camaraderie among teammates lingered, the laughter echoing in the locker room as we readied ourselves for the evening match.
