The aroma of the lemon tarts overwhelmed my senses, while the sound of the oven was Luna's cue to place the raw cookies inside.

Even though we were working in the same kitchen of my flat, we were working on different things but with the same goal in mind. To finish within the marked time.

My hands spread the flour through the counter, and with all my strength I kept rolling the dough. I never dared to take my eyes off what I was doing. Even though it was quite tempting to look over the splattered mess on my counter. Just the thought of the deep cleaning afterward made me shake my head.

Even with all the hair tied up, every movement with my arms caused a string of hair to bounce between my eyes, shyly tickling my face.

"Is the cake stacked?" I broke down the dough into smaller portions.

She nodded. "Just started to cover the cake with the icing."

I took a small peek at the clock when pressure started to creep from my back.

I placed the raw substance into the oven and quickly smoothed my powdered hands against the apron.

Luna handed me the spatula and we switched stations.

I splattered the remaining icing through the cake as I twirled it around to grab every corner that was almost invisible to the human eye.

My hand grabbed a handful of the wild berries that were freshly washed in the bowl. I dropped them evenly throughout the cake.

It was almost done.

My eyes scanned the counter looking for the finishing touch. "Powdered sugar," I mumbled. The mess hid the ingredient quite well, it almost felt like a game of hide and seek. It sometimes made me wish to be more organized when it came to baking.

I unveiled the splattered items until I finally spotted it behind the basket of eggs that Molly had given me the other day I went to visit Ginny.

My mind whispered to see the remaining time and the temptation won. I took a quick peek to see we were down to one minute left on the clock.

I shook the container on top of the cake but nothing came off. I tried again but nothing.

I took a glance to see what might be wrong but everything seemed to be normal.

A grunt escaped my lips as I twisted my hand to open it, but it seemed like it was glued. The task was quite impossible.

Luna saw me struggle.

"Do you need help?" She offered her assistance.

I shook my head. "I think I got it." A loud pop echoed throughout the kitchen in a mere second, and the powdered sugar flew up to my face.

The time, however, kept me on edge and the powder on my face was the least of my worries.

The cake seemed to have received some snow as the flakes twirled down and turned the berries into small peak mountains.

The timer went off and all the materials in hand were placed down.

A smile of satisfaction made its way across my face. My eyes scanned all the desserts we baked under the time frame.

We did it. We were ready for the baking challenge.

All the tension from my shoulders faded. The desserts looked quite ravishing, not because we did it but due to the mere fact that we used some of my mom's old recipes.

My stomach rumbled at its sight, and the sugar craving increased with the sweet aroma of baked cake.

I used my arms to remove the white powder from my face. "We should taste it," I suggested.
