Jessi pov:

Bang!

My breath was stuck in my throat as I was busy processing what was going on, I didn't know what was happening.I saw Derick's panicked face looking at me , everything was starting to become blurry, his face was getting blurry too.My legs started to feel wobbly and it was as if I couldn't stand on them anymore so I felt myself falling , I hadn't realized it since I was way too focused on the fact that Derick was here.

As Derick hurried to my side and caught me, I felt a stinging sensation in my shoulder area and I winced, Derick grabbed me by my waist and started yelling something I couldn't make out.

Bang!

There was that sound again, but this time it wasn't as loud, that stinging spot on my shoulder started burning and I felt tears fill my vision.

As I was crying , I saw that Derick and I were now on the ground and I tried calling out to him.

"De-", I tried saying but instead I started coughing, I couldn't breath somehow.

My eyes started feeling heavy as I tried to keep them open , but I failed.

'Jessi, keep your eyes open!'

I faintly heard someone scream, and I realized that it was Derick calling out to me.

So I tried opening my eyes but it was way too hard, it was as if somebody was holding their hands on to my eyes.I finally quit trying to open my eyes as I drifted off to sleep...

I opened my eyes and saw that I was in some kind of a hallway, the right side led to a dark alleyway, which looked very creepy and broken, I looked to the left side and saw that the other alley way was more lighter and it looked more fixed up with beautiful paintings on it, it didn't look scary at all.

While I was  looking at the left and lighter side , I saw a figure walking over to me , I squinted my eyes to try to make out what or who it was, I looked back to the right side and there was also a tall figure approaching me , I started to freak out as I thought that it may be something that was bad since it came from the creepy side of the hall.

I decided to run away from the dark and creepy side ,so I ran into the light side, the ground was hot as I was approaching the figure, I stopped right in my tracks as I recognized the figure, it was ...

My mom?

"M-ma?", I questioned and I started tearing up as she smiled at me.

"My dearest baby", she said while caressing my hair, I immediately felt warmth radiating from her.

I took her hand and smiled but she let my hand go and I looked confused, "It's not your time yet baby", she said with a gentle expression.

"I don't care Ma , I wanna go with you!", I said with a voice filled with determination.

"No", she simply said and I frowned, "why not?", I questioned.

She pointed behind me and I looked in that direction, my eyes widened as I looked at the dark side of the hall , the tall figure was ...

Derick.

"You still got a purpose to live",she said and I turned around and smiled widely at her her ,"I love you so much Ma!",  I said while hugging her so tightly.

The hug felt so amazing and welcoming, I loved this sensation.

When our hug finally finished she let go of me and smiled to Derick's side.

I turned around and saw Derick waiting for me , I decided to walk over to him and as I took the steps towards him , the hallway became darker but I wasn't afraid because Derick was right there, smiling at me, when I finally reached him, I took his hand and let him lead me through the darkness...

But not before taking one last glance at my angelic mother...

I opened my eyes and the first thing I noticed was a white ceiling, I looked around my surroundings and the second thing I noticed was that I was not in a hospital, in fact , this bed was much bigger.

I tried sitting up but I felt that my shoulder was hurting, I remember hurting my shoulder before passing out , but this time it was much less pain than before.

I tried sitting up again , but then door the opened and a lady with a broom walked in , I assumed that she was a cleaner by the way her uniform looked, her eyes widened as she saw that I was awake, she dropped her broom and gasped.

"H-he's awake", she whispered at first , but then she ran out of the room and I heard her shout:

"He's awake!"

Not even a minute later a man I recognized walked in, it was Phobos, he walked over to me and whispered:

"Jessi?", I rolled my eyes at that.

"No Santa clause", I sarcastically answered.

He laughed and came over to me, he hugged me very tightly.

okay I did not expect that.

"I need to notify Boss that you woke up!", He said excited.

"No wait!, I have a better plan", I said smirking slyly.

And he gave me a suspicious look before nodding.

                       *3 hours later*

I was waiting impatiently for Derick to come  already , Phobos said that Derick was working late today and that-

The door opened and I immediately closed my eyes, pretending to be asleep , I heard footsteps approach me  and I then heard someone sit on the chair that was Infront of the bed.

"Jessi", I heard Derick's comforting voice.

"I miss you. Alot", he chuckled and I almost smiled...

Almost.

"Work isn't the same without you , it's boring and quiet , I miss your voice and your presence, I even miss your continuous complaining about how your salary should become higher", he laughed and my heart melted, I remember that I always annoyed him by saying that to the point where he restricted me from his office.

"I-I wish I told this way sooner , but I love you , I know should've told you this a long ti--", Derick tried to finish but I interrupted him.

"You what?" , I questioned with wide eyes.

Derick looked at me surprised and I saw all the emotions on flash his face , happiness , sadness, relief and surprise.

"Jessi...", He said before grabbing me and pulling me into a hug , I winced at the sudden pain at my shoulder and Derick didn't hold me as tight anymore.

"Sorry", he said with his face still buried in my neck.

We hugged for a long while until I felt a wet liquid, my eyes widened and I pulled away to look at Derick's face .

He looked away but I saw that his eyes were glossy."You're crying?", I questioned with wide eyes.

Believe me , I never saw Derick crying. EVER, not even at his sister's funeral...

"I'm glad you're back ", he said looking, down and I lifted his chin and kiss him, he was surprised at first but he kissed me back and it was as if he was starved for weeks .

"I love you too", I said after we kissed and we both smiled.
