Race to Hollow Earth

5:05 am (L.E.A.F HQ, Meeting Room)

Penelope (who would rather be called Green Shadow but is mostly just referred to by her real name) and Beta Carrotina sit at the head of the meeting table. All other members of L.E.A.F. arrive for the emergency meeting.
"Took y'all long enough. I got here in two minutes!", Beta Carrotina brags. "You have jet packs and seem to hate sleep.", Captain Combustible points out.
"I got here faster than everyone else. That makes me the best responder on the team!", Beta Carrotina retorts.
"I can still beat you in a foot race.", Captain Combustible challenges. "I don't have legs, you geezer!", Beta Carrotina responds. "I'm aware.", Captain Combustible says with a grin on his face. "Alright everyone! Settle down, this is important!", Penelope exclaims. "I would hope so! You interrupted my much needed beauty sleep!", Rose exclaims. "Yeah this better actually be important and not just some other minor mission you want to do with us! Any other time I'd be up for that, but definitely not 5 in the fucking morning!", Solar Flare exclaims. "Yeah it better be important.", Wall Knight says. "Yes, it's important, now would you all please shut up so that I can talk?!?", Penelope exclaims. There is a moment of silence, which is then interrupted by Wall Knight repeating "Yeah, everyone be quiet". "Yes... thanks... Wall Knight... anyways, as I was saying, we have an emergency on our hands. Lieutenant Carrotron was on a mission to save some plants trapped in Zombopolis when he overheard two of Huge Giganticus's underlings discussing one of his upcoming plans. They said Huge Giganticus is going to try to recruit the zombies of Hollow Earth again.", Penelope says. "That undead midget's trying that plan again? Hah, it didn't work the first hundred times, why worry now?", Solar Flare asks, crossing her arms. "Because, this time Huge Gigantic made a breakthrough, he found out that some prehistoric zombies near the surface saw Neptuna commanding an army of zombies and using her powers years ago, so they began worshipping her. Now he's told the prehistoric zombies in Hollow Earth that he and Neptuna are part of the same team, and they've agreed to let him in to talk to their leader if he brings Neptuna along with him. The talk is scheduled to happen at 7:30 am. If Huge Giganticus gets the zombies from Hollow Earth on his side, we're done for!", Penelope exclaims. Everyone looks at each other, thinking about this new information in silence.
Until Wall Knight breaks the silence, asking, "What's Hollow Earth?" "Shut up Wall Knight.", almost everyone says. Spudow quickly explains Hollow Earth to him. "Hollow Earth is an underground society of prehistoric plants and zombies that us and the Z-Team discovered back when Huge Giganticus crashed Meteor Z into an unpopulated area. The residents of Hollow Earth are pretty powerful, so the prehistoric zombies teaming up with Huge Giganticus and the rest of Z-Team would suck.", Spudow explains to Wall Knight.
"So, what do we do?", Grass Knuckles asks.
"Well, we need to stop Huge Giganticus before he can get those prehistoric zombies to join his cause. I see no other solution", Beta Carrotina answers. "Or, instead of going through that hassle, we could just recruit the prehistoric plants to help us fight the prehistoric zombies.", Rose suggests. "I don't think so, remember how that went last time? Oh right I forgot, you didn't come since you were to busy staring at yourself in the mirror!", Solar Flare exclaims. "Oh!!! Burn!", Nightcap says, fist bumping Solar Flare.
"Honestly, we have so few options that at this point I'm considering just trying to convince the prehistoric plants again. I mean, what else can we do?", Penelope says. "See, my idea was good, because I'm the best!", Rose says to Solar Flare. If Chompzilla could talk she would've told Rose to shut the fuck up, Rose was starting to get on her nerves. Nightcap does it for her. "Shut up Rose, no one likes you.", he says.
"Oh yeah? Well, you smell!", Rose retaliates.
"Yeah, that's the coffee I bathe in.", Nightcap says. "Everyone shut up! Do you not realize the severity of this situation?!? We could be doomed if we don't stop Huge Giganticus or do something else! What are we doing standing around here chattering! We have to do something damn it!", Captain Combustible exclaims. "Chill out Stumpy, we got this.", Citron says. "NEVER CALL ME STUMPY AGAIN, I WILL KILL YOU, YOU HEAR ME?", Captain Combustible says, jumping at Citron but being held back by Spudow. "Calm down man. It's Citron, you know how he is.", Spudow says. Captain Combustible sighs and calms down.
"Captain's right, we need to do something, here's what I got.", Penelope says, "Team A: Me, Spudow, Beta Carrotina, and Citron will go negotiate with the plants of Hollow Earth to hopefully get them on our side, while Team B: Solar Flare, Chompzilla, Nightcap, Grass Knuckles, Captain Combustible, and Rose will head to Z-Team headquarters and try to capture Neptuna before she and Huge Giganticus go to Hollow Earth. It's our only shot at winning other than teaming up with the prehistoric plants. Without Neptuna next to him, the zombies of Hollow Earth won't follow Huge Giganticus.", she explains. "What about me?", Wall Knight asks. "Oh... right... um, you can be part of Team A I guess.", Penelope responds. "I have to fight?", Rose asks. "Yes. There's no way you're gonna be the one who convinces the prehistoric plants, I don't want to risk you insulting them by calling them inferior or something.", Penelope says. "Why, I would never!", Rose says, "I would instead call them brutes, insects, or something else to that effect.", she finishes.
"And that's why you're not negotiating. Let me and the others handle the negotiations. We're actually likeable.", Penelope tells Rose. "Ohhhhh! Burn!!!", Solar Flare and Night Cap exclaim.
"I'll choose to ignore that. I would prefer not to fight if possible, even though I have the best fighting skills.", Rose says. "Please shut up. Even I don't like you.", Wall Knight says. "OHHHHHHHH!!!", Night Cap exclaims. "BURNED BY WALL KNGIHT, IMAGINE!", Solar Flare exclaims at the same time.
"Wow, you guys are really annoying today.", Captain Combustible says while yawning. "Alright, everyone in Team A come with me, we've got to get a move on. As for Team B, figure out how you're gonna capture Neptuna. I designate Solar Flare as leader.", Penelope says, as she and the rest of Team A leave. "What?!? Why is it always Solar Flare!?!" Rose exclaims. "Cause she's Penelope's favorite, duh.", Captain Combustible says. "Alright boss, what's the plan?", Grass Knuckles asks. "Uh... I dunno man, give me a second to think at least.", Solar Flare says, grinning. "Clearly she's the best leader ever.", Night Cap says sarcastically. Solar Flare punches him in the arm. "Asshole.", she says jokingly. They both laugh.
