A/N : I'm writing these stories in chronological order, this is not the order I originally wrote these in but instead in the order of the timeline so if things don't make sense, they will do in later books. There will be mild gore in some of these.
Past the river and through the many acres of trees, we come to where this story begins, a small, quaint cottage. In it lived a young girl of 19. Ellie. This story takes place in a time very different to now. In the late 18 hundreds. Where girls had to be homeschooled if they wanted an education. However, that wasn't a problem, as Ellie had the kindest and most quirky mother ever imagined. She taught Ellie biology and chemistry ( only a little bit of physics as she didn't deem it as necessary,) Maths, English, French, Spanish, German, Latin - because you never know when you'll meet a Latin speaking person - badminton and croquet.
Ellie's father didn't like this, he thought girls were just there to be married off , cook and have children. That's why when Ellie turned 18 she left to go work on a farm. But not with some cheap bloke. Her own farm where she can get muddy to plant her own crops and flowers. She had a cow for the odd glass of milk, but she mostly ate bread, freshly made from the field, apples, freshly picked, and berries she found in the forest. Her mother taught her which berries would make you ill, which ones the birds liked, and which ones were safe to eat. Oh and she also had the cutest dog ever, Sky.
Ellie's mother still visited, they loved spending time together. But ever since she left, Ellie hadn't seen her father. She was honestly surprised to say she missed him.
Now we come to the other half of our story. In it we meet a boy, or should I say demon, Quease! Demons are a race sent by the devil : or so they say. They look like normal human beings on the outside. They're known for their immortality and spell castings and demons can only die to the hands of a monster, humans can't do anything to stop one.
All monsters had to attend a school specialised for the peculiar and the powerful. These schools teach monsters how to use their powers and of the history on how humans made monsters go into hiding.
The monsters set out to strike their revenge on the humans. Quease joined the battle aged 21 afraid of what may happen. He went into battle dagger shaking. He heard the snapping of a twig. Slowly, he crept towards where the sound had come from. He was soon in the forest the sound of footsteps ahead. Suddenly, he felt his feet slip on something. The change of temperature and texture was sudden. Every time he tried to catch his breath he swallowed what seemed to feel like oil. And he was moving. He opened his eyes and dared to lift his head.
He was in a river. He looked up to see that the thing he'd been chasing was only a badger. How could he be so stupid?! He pulled himself up the muddy surface, barely being able to keep himself from falling with the weight of his wet clothes. It was like someone was trying to pull him down! He saw a warm, cosy looking cottage up ahead past the clearing. "Finally!" He thought.
It didn't look like anyone was home so he climbed through the window and he caught a whiff of bread cooking. He wandered around and had a good look at the interior.
He felt a sharp pain on the back of his head. He started to fall his eyes drooping.
Quease woke up to find a girl with a croquet bat in her hand. It was Ellie.
"Consider yourself lucky, I didn't hit you harder!" She spat,"who knew this actually had a purpose?"
"Please don't hurt me?" Quease stammered.
"You think I'd hurt you, Ok maybe I did, but you were breaking an entry and I had every right to do so!" Quease told her why he was here and she let him go if he promised to never come back.
Soon Ellie found herself looking for him. She had a way of doing what she told others not to. The two quickly became friends, and after a few years they got together. After they got married they had two children together. Three years separated them. The eldest - Mary - took after her father and had his abilities. The younger of the two was like her mother and was a human. Her name was Mae!
