Father missing! Light broken! Carpet singed! This was growing to be a regular occurrence. Every night Mae came home from school to a frightened dog Skye and the damage from her drunk father worse than before.

The first time only a broken bottle was found. The next a flooded bathroom. After a weekend of having to put up with a drunk father, current outbursts of ,"Stupid f***ing radio," and ,"Will you two ever shut up," Mae overheard his father's argument with Boris. An argument that would make their lives ten times worse.

Boris was Quease's high school friend. The two were always there for each other, they had a magical relationship. After the attack of the monsters where Quease met Ellie, the two saw each other less and less. However they still got along in fact he soon became Mae and Mary's Godfather.
Recently however, Boris was questioning Quease, questioning him about his bravery. Once a brave and intelligent demon, now a lowly pathetic dick. This angered Quease and started his drinking obsession.

The argument that Mae overheard that first weekend went a little something like this.

Boris felt a bit bad about the way he treated Quease three days prior, so he went to apologise. On the way to his house Boris learned that Quease was wanted for "Treason" as marrying a human apparently was. When Boris arrived he apologised and told Quease. Boris said that if he was to keep him safe he'd have to stop meeting up with him, so as not to be tracked. This simple act of kindness to try and keep his friend safe angered Quease causing the row Mae would soon overhear leading to a drunk father to drink more.

The next week Quease trashed the bedrooms, broke the lights and kitchen utensils, burned the dining room/living room and he even ripped up all of Ellie's plants and crops. However, on Friday afternoon Quease went too far.

We come back to where this story started. Father missing! Light broken! Carpet singed! This was growing to be a regular occurrence. Every night Mae came home to a frightened dog Skye and the damage from her drunk father worse than before.

But there was something different about tonight. I said missing father not drunk father. Different?! And I said a frightened dog Skye, but Skye didn't come running to the door today. She walked to the kitchen and stared horrorstruck at her mother crying over SKYE!

Skye was an old dog at the brink of death, who quite honestly wanted to die. She'd developed Arthritis and that morning Ellie saw signs that she was going to die. Skye was so clingy and she whined and cried like they only had a few hours left together. Ellie sobbed at the loss of her dog and spent the afternoon digging her grave.

Mae soon learned that Ellie had kicked Quease out of the house after he laughed at Skye's dead corpse. That was the last straw. What broke Ellie's heart was to see the man she loved happily saunter and stagger away. Unaffected by what he had done, unaffected by his broken love!
