Once we got back to Cassie's house she showed me the room we were sharing, We had to share a bed for the first few nights but I didn't mind. She had the whole attic of the house as her room. She took me in and showed me around. I carried my stuff up the stairs and placed it next to a shelf with her impressive vinyl collection, racking up. She had so many posters of all of my favourite bands.
"you likey?" she said, gesturing to her Band posters.
"Hah, I lovey" I muttered in awe.
"Better yet" she cut her sentence of walking over to the window. She Opened it and stepped out onto the roof. "You want a coffee or something? we can sit out here." She grinned.
"yeah, if you don't mind, I'll have coffee please, milk and sugar."
"Alrighty just give me a sec" she opened up the door on her floor and climbed down the ladder. About five minutes after she left Dave came into her room looking for me.
"Hey Dave" i waved at him awkwardly, I wasn't quite sure what we were seeing as he had kissed me once or twice, but I wasn't sure how it felt. It wasn't anything major though, I had only known the guy a day. I think I wanted to be more than friends with Dave, but I wasn't sure. I didn't really know how to feel around him.
"Demi, Hi" he started to walk over to me. "just wanted to come see how you were."
"oh am i sick or something?" I chuckled
"I'd hope not" He smiled pulling me in for a hug. I just sat there motionless with my arm clutching my knees. "Hey Demi? this is kinda out of the blue, but If it's okay with you I'd like to go on a date with you, i thought we could go bowling or something." I started to smile at him. I was really happy. I had never really dated anyone so far, everyone was more disgusted by me or was too 'good' for me.
"I think I would really like that" I smiled.
"Great, I'll pick you up, Monday night, say about 7?"
We sat down together with each other, his arm around me and my head on his shoulder. No one ever really fancied me at my old school, because I was a metal head or a nerd or whatever the hell you want to say.
About ten minutes later Cassie came up the stairs. "Heya you two" She handed me my coffee and Dave stood up. He nodded at her and started to walk away.
"I'm uh gonna go." He kissed my head and walked over to the ladder. Before he went down he tipped his head at me as a waving motion.
I looked over at Cassie's clock to check the time. 10:30 PM. She put on a pink floyd record and took me out onto the roof and grabbed a few blankets in doing so. She grabbed a little baggie of something. I took a step out onto the roof and my eyes focused onto the small baggie in her hands. She had weed!
"weed and coffee? Isn't that bad for you?"
"no, obviously not" she nodded "Its.. It's a prescription!" she drank some of her coffee
"Sure Cassie, suit yourself"
"So you and Davy, huh?" She took a hit again.
"Yeah i guess, i'm not sure, why, whats up?" There was a thick smell of the night air and strong coffee beans. The chilly breeze blew through my body.
"Oh, nothing." She seemed like something was wrong
"Cassie what's up?"
"No, Dem it's okay, It doesn't matter." she sighed
"Please tell me Cass" I begged her
"nah it's fine"
"Well it's obviously not, tell me?"
