Declan sighed as he closed Messages. He clicked the photos app, scrolling through till he found a picture of Mason. He longingly drew a finger on the screen. He found himself zooming in on Mason's smile, on his goatee, on his kind eyes. Then, as if struck, he quickly shut off his phone.
He was supposed to be forgetting these feelings, not nurturing them! He thought about the nightmare he just had, and the scenes replayed in his mind.

Him texting Mason, saying they needed to talk.
Mason coming, and Declan confessing.
Mason being disgusted. Mason going on the team gc and telling them everything.
All of them laughing at him.
Southgate kicking him off the team for "indecency".

As they replayed, Declan felt worse and worse. He needed to talk to someone. Mason, his brain thought. Not Mason! Someone else...
