SUMMARY

Running away at 13 wasn't easy, but Demi Moore always managed to cope. Coping was a lot easier than being happy. Coping meant she was surviving, and at this point in her life, that was all she ever needed. Happiness could come later. For now, all she needed to do was cling on and continue coping. No matter how hard that was at times.

She fell into some bad crowds and bad names, she did somethings that she seriously regretted, she'd went against all her morals and stomped all over her dignity, but everything she did was for a reason. She spent three years clinging onto the hope of a better future, but by her sixteenth birthday, she was beginning to wonder why she even tried anymore. Everything was a mess, and the once bubbly and bright girl had turned stone-cold and grey. Demi wasn't Demi anymore, and that was what crushed her the most.

She met Robby Keene a little while ago, when they were both crashing at a bad house together. Demi wondered why he was there - - Robby was a lot different to the guys she usually hung out with, and he treated her like a person, rather than the useless object she'd become. That was strange to her. Respect was something she'd forgotten all about. Something she hadn't had in a long time.

Over the days, Demi found herself getting closer to the boy, who slowly unravelled her like a yo-yo. For the first time in years, she gave somebody her trust, and that meant everything to her. It meant a lot to Robby too, who found himself caring deeply for her and her story.

Then, Demi left, leaving Robby confused.

A long while later, there's a knock on his apartment door. A desperate, annoying knock that could only come from one cold-faced blonde. Robby Keene's entire world does a 360 at the sight of the girl he nearly convinced himself was nothing but a figment of his imagination.
