(Fr though, imagine drinking that mf.)
Stopping that traitor was the right thing to do, putting him in a cell would only prolong the inevitable.
No. They're right to be scared. Disassembling Touch of Malice and taking Oryx's power for myself without notifying the Vanguard was rash, but The Witness capitalized on my anger. No excuse for that.
On a positive side, he didn't have to be restrained to one class anymore.
Drake Sirius, an old soul trapped in a young body and one of the oldest Hunters in the new Tower since Cayde, finished his preflight checks and spoke to his Ghost.
Drake: Riven, anything I should know?
A Ghost core surrounded by twitching bone appeared beside him. The center of the eye would occasionally flash a different symbol every few minutes. A dragon, two swimming fish, or a standing hawk. Riven's voice echoes through the cockpit of Drake's ship.
Riven: I think this is a great idea...
Drake: I see you're understanding sarcasm. Anything of relevance?
Riven: A call from Eris and a message from Elizabeth.
Drake: Put her through. I'll read El's message in a second.
A brief sizzle of static comes through his helmet before a voice came through.
Eris: Sirius. Ikora tells me you caught a traitor before her Hidden could. She's thankful, though she may not vocalize it.
Drake: Hm. Calling to say bye?
Eris: Knowing you as well as the state of the world at large, your exile will be short-lived. Instead, I call with a warning.
Drake: Oh?
Eris: If you do plan to leave the system, the Traveler's Light will struggle to keep your inner darkness at bay. Stay strong.
Admittedly, the Light's grip has been slipping a bit lately. Just faint whispers and the feeling of being watched. With The Witness getting closer and closer, the darkness gets stronger and stronger. Her warning was certainly unnerving.
Drake: Alright, Eris. I'll hold out.
Eris: Good. I also had something placed inside your ship. Consider it a...parting gift as a wish for your safe return.
Before he could respond with a thanks, the call ended. That was Eris in a nutshell. Whatever it takes for the greater good and act without thanks.
Drake: Pull up that message for me.
On a screen to his left, the message flashes up immediately.
"Hey. Caught word from Ana. You did the right thing, bypassing all the paperwork and getting to the point. A lot of innocent people would have died if not for you. Stay in touch."
Ever since meeting her on Venus, Elizabeth kept a close eye on Drake. Though, in her time, her suspicions were well founded. Still, they were good friends before the events that caused her future to come to pass.
Drake: Everything accounted for?
Riven: Fifteen vex teleporters, a portable vault, and whatever item Eris snuck in. Is this really necessary? This would be a great opportunity for a long vacation.
Drake's ship, the Solpiercer's, engines roar to life as it gently rises into the air inside of the tower hanger.
