☆ IRRATIONAL - CHAPTER FOUR ☆
Y/n has never felt like he was suited for hero work. You could even go as far as to say he had zero interest in anything hero related. It wasn't like he hated hero's, he just wasn't interested in them, he also thought that most hero's were probably assholes anyways.
Not only was he just not the kind of person who could save people the way hero's do, he feels like it would be a lie to the public in some way for him to become one. Even just the name "hero" suggests that you do heroic things for the sake of helping people in some sort of selfless sacrifice for the greater good or some shit. No matter how much he wished he could magically become the good person that society needs, and is somewhat lacking in, in hero's, he knew he wouldn't suddenly become that person. And so he never even thought about it. It was never his intention until a few months ago to even try and become a hero. He doesn't have a very flashy or "hero like" quirk anyways.
Back in middle school, there were people he would hang around with who would say that. He never considered them friends, and if he had they wouldn't have been good ones. He could tell they didn't like him all that much anyways and it was honestly confusing why they kept him around, he figured it some kind of tasteless joke at his expense.
"No offense man, but you definitely couldn't be a hero with that quirk" they laughed a bit.
They were all sitting together at lunch, y/n just trying to enjoy his food, when the topic of hero's and quirks had come up. Cody was absent a lot for lots of different reasons and he wasn't here today.
"Yeah, you're kinda right" y/n chuckled as he confirmed what they were saying. 'You couldn't either though. Can't even imagine an asshole like you bein' a hero' He couldn't say that out loud though, he felt mean even thinking it despite knowing they don't even like him.
"Yeah man haha, that's a villain quirk right there!"
He didn't think they were wrong, He wasn't especially sad about it either. He didn't like the idea that people thought his quirk was villain like, but it's not like that's really something that matters in the grand scheme of things. Those were people he's probably never even going to speak to again.
Plus, Y/n has shop lifted before with his quirk. At times when he didn't have enough money but wanted something, he didn't really have a problem with taking what he wanted. With no chance of getting caught, he found he wasn't actually all the guilty about it. Of course he didn't like to make a habit out of it seeing as he understands everyone has to make a living.
