neteyam

You and neteyam had been friends since you were children, flying on your ikrans together was something you had done ever since you bonded with them.

"Neteyam! Hurry up." you laughed as you quickly flew past him,
"Y/n you don't really think you can beat me do you?" he responded as he quickly caught up with you again.

You both began urging your ikrans to go faster as you raced to be in the lead.
"Race you to that rock over there!" you shouted and pointed out a rock that was situated on one of the floating islands.

Neteyam didn't even wait to respond as he began increasing his pace, he laughed as he looked back and saw your annoyed face. Whilst he was looking back, he didn't have time to notice the island that came out infront of him.

"Neteyam stop!" you cried out as he suddenly whipped his head back to face forward and had to lead his ikran in a nose dive in order to avoid be crushed. You quickly followed as he was struggling to get control of his ikran after having scared it.

You saw how he landed on one of the smaller islands whilst his ikran began to calm down, you flew down to them and landed beside him.

"Are you ok? What happened up there?" you quickly asked.
"I just wasn't looking carefully," neteyam responded "some island just came out of nowhere."

You eyes raked over him and you could see he had a deep gash on his side from the landing.
"You're hurt neteyam, we should go back." you said as you reached to point out the gash that was now leaking blood.

"It's nothing," he smirked "just a small cut."
You gave him a look and he caved, "ok, ok we'll go back." he said, raising his hands in surrender.
"Are you sure you're ok to fly like that?" you asked worriedly, glancing at the gash that had now began to look worse.
"Yes y/n i'm fine, i promise." he tried to reassure you, but he winced everytime he walked and let out a hiss when he tried to get up on his ikran, his gash opening more.

"Neteyam you cant fly like that, you can't even get on the actual ikran."
"How else am i going to get home?" he responded.
"Just fly with me, then you can just sit tight before we make it back." you suggested. You and Neteyam had flown on each other's ikran plenty of times, this wouldn't be any different.

You helped him get onto the ikran, and leapt up infront of him so that you could fly.
"Hold on okay, we don't want you falling off." you laughed.
"Yeah, yeah okay."he said as he wrapped his arms around you waist.
You tried not to notice the blush that had risen onto your cheeks and we're grateful that neteyam couldn't see your face.

As you flew home, you tried to make it as steady as possible so neteyam didn't get more hurt, he was pressed up right against you, his arms circling you waist, his front pressed against your back, his head gently resting on your shoulder.

When you landed, you saw Neytiri run up to you.
"What happened." she cried as she saw how his chest was covered in blood from the gash that had continued to bleed .

"We were flying and he didn't see an island, there was a hard landing and he cut himself on one of the rocks." you quickly said as you saw Jake come out to see what was happening.

He instantly helped neteyam off the ikran and took him to the tsahik. You followed, wanting to make sure neteyam was okay.

"Y/n, go get some rest, i will tell you when neteyam is rested." neytiri spoke as she laid a hand on your shoulder.

The next morning, you rushed out of your hammock to see if neteyam was healed, as you entered the tent you saw him laying on the ground, ointments and healing supplies all around him.

"Neteyam." you breathed.
"Y/n," he grinned at you.

You rushed over and knelt down beside him.
"If you weren't so injured i would slap you for being so stupid." you hisses jokingly.
He smirked at you, "Thank you for bringing me back, y/n."
"You didn't think i would really leave you there did you."
"I wouldn't put it past you." he snorted.

You gently slapped his shoulder, he grabbed your hand and placed it back on him, resting over his heart.
"You make me crazy y/n." he spoke as he looked at you.
"You just-"

You cut him off as you softly placed your lips over his, you felt him smile into the kiss as he placed a hand on the side of your face and deepened the kiss.

You broke apart for air and looked at each other, still in each other's embraces.

Voices began to grow louder and you jumped apart as you saw his parents and the tsahik enter.

"I'll see you later neteyam." you said as you hurried out the tent.
