Unexpected Mates

One we finally get back to the pack house and I see the day catching up to her. Many different emotions flit across her face but the one it settles on is confusion and weariness.

"Al, you called me your mate more than once"
I cock my head to the side and stare at her in slight confusion and apprehension for where this conversation is heading.

"Yes I did, why love?" My mind is wandering a mile a minute 'does she not want me am I not good enough for her'

She gulps before taking a breath almost as if to steal herself.

"Mates is like the equivalent to marrage yes"
Nodding slowly fear and despair creep through my bones and my wolf is screaming in my ear. We both go quiet when she continues.

"I don't think i can do this allison. I dont want to be tied to someone now I dont think I can ever tie myself so one person. I'm sorry but i cant be your mate."

My wolf crys out in pain gulping I nod slowly trying to blink back the tears that threaten to spill I will not show weakness infront of someone who doesn't want me. 'I should have seen this coming I new she didnt want to be held down

*flash back*

Everyone's laughing and Alice asked who would want to get married or in a long term relationship.

"I think I would be a good thing and I want one" I state grinning when I get scoff from the rest because they know I have a mate.

"I dont know, I think its restricting to only limit yourself to one. I dont really want to get married either."

Ruth wimmpers and retreated to the back of my mind at that. At that moment a small part if me grew, one filled with doubt and sadness that my mate will move on with out me.

*flash back over*

She looks me in the eye and takes a deep breath. Grimicing to myself and cursing the part that told her how to properly reject your mate I brace for the pain

"I malia Gilbert reject my mate Allison may. I reject the mate bond and I reject any and all ties that would involve me in her pack. I reject it and may the moongodess grant me my wish"

I grit my teeth against the pain but speak my lines
"I alpha of the night shade pack herby accept your rejection"

She nods and runs of back to the woods and I hear her call for a taxi once shes back on the road. Once I know shes gone that's when I finally let myself fall. I slice down the wass and curl my legs up to my chest wrapping my arms round thin in the process

~I'm so so so sorry ruth, I should have waited~

~allison is fine, yes it hurts now but well get over it and you never know we might get a 2nd chance~

I feel a wave of gratitude before she retreats into the back of my mind to process. I wipe my eyes and pull open my door I walk down stairs and everyone moves out of my way when they see the blank face but pure undiluted rage and grief shining in my eyes.

I jog out to the woods and shift i take control in my wolf form because Ruth isnt ready to come fourth right now. I run and run hoping over fallen branches and logs. U run until I'm exhausted. I look up at the sky and I see the mood shining in the distance I let out a loud pain filled howl to the moon, one filled with loss and despair. I hear some howls from my pack as condolences. Jogging back I slowly emerge from the tree line to see everyone who heard the howl out there all there to try and help me. Smiling to myself I thank my father for passing suck a great pack to me.

I ensure everyone I will be fine and that theres no need for them to worry to much about me. I head to my office and get started on all the paper work and alliances that need to be looked through.

Jackson enters after about an hour of me doing boring paperwork and planning some more in investments so we can always provide for those who need it.

"Al we need you to  come up with a date for the American pack comeing over and the vampires, they want to know about the alliances"

Pondering the cor a bit "when can they get here by"

He looks over the letters"the wolves in two days and the vamps in one".
Nodding "tell them to het here as soon as they can also make sure the vamps know nit to feed on the locals they can wither feed of me or any other will ing pack member as long as they dont drink us dry or the can find blood bags and possibly feed of humans not hear here."
He nods once and goes of to finalise the acceptance things I dont know what hes doing I just know I'm going to have to do it later, groaning when I relise that I'm going to have more work to do that I have now. Looking back down at the paperwork my eyes narrow on. An new pack has joined near here and there  lose to bordering our territory it also appears that there killing roads and turning unwilling humans. I unse the mind link to het some of my boarder patrol up here. While I'm waiting I look through to see JC theres any supernatural biased deaths. I seen one that could be from the new pack I'll have to go ask them about it.

"Alpha you called us"
"Yes theres a new pack almost bordering ours I want you to let me know if they de die to try and take any of our territory and if you see them kill anymore so far they have turned 11 unwilling humans and killed 6 of them because they went rogue. There also killing lone wolves."
The three I called eyes widen at that before one growls
"Of course alpha, we'll let you know if anything happens that out of the ordinary as well."
Nodding I look at the clock growling at the time I look down at the mountain of work I still need to do and the fact that its midnight. I finally decide to continue with some more work, signing of on some more houses that need building and some people who want there mates to be brought into the pack.

I crack my neck and lean back with a sigh I've been sat for to long slowly getting up I trudge to bed and not even bothering to get changed I just flop onto it my legs half hanging of I groan into the mattress and try block out the day. Grimicing when I relise I have a future alliance and have to think about how to welcome them in.
