Nina had come down to eat. As she looked around, she noticed the stares from the classroom had followed her to the refectory. That was the reason why she objected to enrolling in a new school because the students and teachers would want to tear you down by how they looked at you and they would try to analyze you, but it didn't stop her from still admiring the refectory again. The room was big with each table, having wood-designed seats connected to it. Water dispensers were placed at each corner of the room. The students sat according to their classes. The juniors sat from the entrance area to the middle of the room while the seniors, from the middle to the end of the refectory. The cooks stood in front of the hall and served food as the students formed a line and brought their plates from the plate rack to get their food one after the other.
"I know you are concerned about the people staring at you, don't worry it will pass," Anny said smiling.
Nina mumbled a "thank you"
Anny directed her to her seat, where she saw Destiny and was properly introduced. When Destiny took Nina to the school tailor, she seemed so shy and they never said anything to each other, apart from greetings and thank you's. Nina concentrated on her food, thinking about all that went down that day. She smiled at every word Anny said to her well that was the least she could do. She saw how Anny tried her best to be welcoming but she wasn't ready to be all friendly and open with anyone yet.
Nina didn't want to remember how her classes went, from the boys throwing glances every opportunity they got and the teacher calling her Every time to introduce herself.
After eating, they went back to their different hostels to prepare themselves for prep.
When Micheal heard the sound of students coming into the hostel, he decided to go to Daniel's room to look for him because he was mostly the first person to leave the dining. When Michael got to his room, neither he nor his roommate - King was around. Everyone knew Daniel wasn't so fond of people, the reason why he just wanted to stay with his only known friend, King. So Michael headed back to his room. On his way, a lot of Juniors and some seniors who hadn't seen him greeted him. A lot of "you've grown bigger", "what did you bring for me?", "Did you travel anywhere this holiday?", "Have you gotten the new Play Station?", Swam out of their lips.
"Pumpkin", A voice called out sounding a bit surprised.
Michael turned around immediately knowing it was just one person who called him that, "Daniel", Michael jumped on him.
"My boy", Daniel rubbed his head. Daniel won't do more than either patting your shoulders or rubbing your head.
"I was looking for you," Micheal said still smiling hard with his lips almost touching his ears.
"You looked for me?" Daniel mocked, "Did you come to the court?"
Michael's smile disappeared immediately "I'm sorry, I was still unpacking," Michael said with his eyes, fixed on the ground.
"C'mon I was just joking. Besides, it's late to still be at the court."
"Your jokes are always sarcastic," Michael said.
"You're always welcome to my world. Let's go to class for prep."
"Just give me a second let me get my books." Michael ran to his room.
...It was now lights out, which was bedtime for them. His roommates were still talking about the new girl. He didn't meet her during prep; Students could read in any class of their choice, maybe that's why he hadn't met her, besides he was with Daniel in class. He was too exhausted to join their conversation, so he decided to sleep and hoped for a sweet next day.
