*3rd POV*
You waited anxiously for a phone call. It had become a daily thing for you at this point. You waited, staring at the black screen. You sigh, getting impatient when it rings. You jump, still not use to the sound of the ringing phone. You grab it and answer it with a grin.

"Hello Y/n." Elijah greets.

"Elijah! Oh I miss you bunches!" You exclaim and he laughs lightly.

He glances at his brother who walks into his study and takes a seat across from him.

"I miss you too Y/n." He says.

"As you should." You say happily.

"How was your first week of school?" He asks, trying to hide his smile.

You never ceased to make him smile. You seemed to always be happy. You put the people around you in joyous moods. Elijah glances at his brother—a mistake. Niklaus started to make motions for him to put it on speaker. Of course Elijah does...he knows this isn't easy for his brother, but he also was wanting to respect your wishes.

"Just as horrendous as I thought it would be." You admit as you sigh.

"Oh come on, it couldn't of been that bad." He laughs.

Little did he know—it could have been and it was. He was not expecting the words that came out of your mouth, that's for sure.

"I've had a detention everyday this week. I've also might've gotten myself...involved in some fight club. That's fine though! I actually enjoy it. It's quite exhilarating. Anyhow, who knew math has gotten so confusing. Honestly, I've given up. Elena has been doing my homework for me. But, the teacher knows. They've given up on me. You know why—there's no hope for me Elijah. I'm not made for school." You ramble.

"Um..." Elijah says.

He wasn't quite sure what to say. You've appalled him once again. All by you recent activities in school. He knew you were smart...he knew this was hard for you as well. He knows this is good for you. Klaus chuckles seeing his brothers confused look.

"Oh! And apparently this boy asked me out on a date...but I thought he meant it in a friend way. Turns out, I broke his heart. Apparently, I did this thing called "friendzoning" even though I didn't know I was doing that. Elena, Caroline and Bonnie think it's absolutely hilarious." You say, upset.

"Fight club? Detentions? People doing your homework for you? And...the boy thing I'm fine with. I'm not upset about that." He says.

"Neither am I." Klaus grumbles as jealously bubbles in his stomach.

"I never said I was perfect, Elijah. Excuse me for being drawn towards violence. I've been thrusted into a violent life of blood and death. And teachers don't like me! They claim I'm complicated! Which is rude! Treat your elders with some respect." You exclaims, snorting and rolling your eyes.

Elijah stares at the phone in confusion. He was at a loss. You weren't adjusting to the school life like he hoped. You were struggling and the teachers were failing you. He runs a hand over his face, feeling stressed as he only means the best for you. Niklaus reaches over and takes the phone from Elijah.

"Love, you said you'd behave." He says.

"I'm drawn to bad choices, I guess." You grumble.

"No more fight clubs. You need to be focusing on your homework and training. Try to listen just a little better. I know, I know, you don't like rules, but you only have a few months left." He says.

"School is complicated!" You whine, "And there is these ridiculous school dances! The girls are forcing me to go and the guys just won't leave me alone. Although, there's this really sweet guy who's really quiet and no one will ask him to the dance. Maybe I'll ask him!"
