Luna moths, scientifically known as Actias luna or the american moon moth, are lime green moths with a silky, flowy body. They're nearctic moths in the family Saturniidae, a group commonly known as giant silk moths. They have lime green wings and white bodies, their larvae are also green. The moth lives for approximately one week after hatching from their cacoon.
