This story is dedicated to my best friend faith6901, who has always been there for me

Chapter 1

I was walking to school with my friend Nikki. It was one of those dreaded Monday's that everybody hates. Cold, snowy, and there was school. We were waiting to cross the street, then a hobo came up to us, and told us to give him all of our money. I thought he was joking, so I said "Sure! And why don't I give you my purse while I'm at it?" but Nikki knew he was serious. So what does she do? She kicks him as hard as she can in the crotch and runs across the street. Being confused with what was happening, I ran after her. A car grazed my leg, which encouraged me to run even faster. The hobo into some shrubs, and we could here him screaming from 3 blocks away. We continued on our way to school, a little more cautiously now. When we stepped into the crowded hallways of a horrible, haunting place called school, we went Nikki and I went our separate ways, heading towards our locker. When we got all the books and spirals we needed for first period, we talked quietly to each other about what had happened before school, and got marked tardy for not being in our seats when the bell rang. ( thanks to Mr. Mendoza) While Mr. Mendoza talked about how "interesting" rocks really are, Nikki passed me a note from the seat next to me.

"Would you ladies care to share your conversation with the whole class?"

" May I do the honors Mr. Mendoza?" I said.Obviously he didn't hear the dripping sarcasm in my voice, and told me to read loudly. Not knowing what the note said myself, yet, I was prepared for the worst. I took a deep breath, and started reading.

"Can you believe that hobo this morning? How dare he! I can't believe somebody would try to pull some thing like that!" The whole class erupted into laughter. I was handed a little pink slip, and turned around to see Nikki holding one as well.

" Guess I'll be seeing you after school!" Nikki said loudly.

Chapter 2

Nikki and I sat together in detention.

Nikki passed me a note. 'Why don't we have some fun? Just because we're in detention doesn't mean we have to be bored!' I wrote back 'yes it does! Why do you think they call it detention?' All of a sudden, we hear a gun shot, and Mr. Rivera is laying on the floor, blood pooling around his head. (and in case you couldn't guess who Mr. Rivera is, he's the principle) Nikki and I were frozen with fear, not able move, or even scream. We heard an ambulance pull into the parking lot, sirens blazing, and next thing we know, Mr. Rivera's dead body is being carried away on a stretcher, and we are being taken to the police station to be questioned. On the way to the police station, the officer driving asked if we knew if Mr. Rivera had any enemies.

"He's the principle of a high school. What do you think?" Nikki said sarcastically. I couldn't help but giggle at her choice if words.

" I'm serious. Do you know any body who might have wanted him dead?" said the officer. I tried to be serious with my reply, but couldn't help but try to be funny.

"Yeah. Practically the whole school. Even the teachers. He was the meanest, most annoying, rude, smelly, sloppiest..."

"Do you have any names?"

"Larry, Katy, Ms. Dodds, Lindsay, James, Gary, Sammy, Hope, Heaven,

Mr. Mendoza, his dog. Just to name a few." I said.

"You forgot his wife." Nikki said.

"Ouch!" said the officer, giggling a little bit.

"We win!" I yelled

"Win what?" Nikki said.

"I thought we were trying to make the guy in the front seat laugh." I said in reply.
