2 days had passed quickly and before you knew it, you were at the airport with your sister. The team had already gone earlier on a separate plane so it was just you and your sister. The flight was long yet boring. You couldn't think about anything else other than your bottom hurting because of sitting for so long. It was currently 12:50pm and you guys finally landed. You groaned in relief as you could finally stand up and stretch. "Get up Georgina I wanna go" you said, clearly tired since you couldn't sleep well on the seats. She nodded with a yawn before getting up and getting her things as well as yours. She had rented a car for both of you since your hotel was a good distance away from the airport.
Once you guys entered your assigned bedroom, you dropped your suitcase and jumped on the bed. "Before you knock out y/n take a shower" "I'll take one later" you heard your sister sigh and that was the last thing you heard before you knocked out into a deep sleep.
"Y/N!!" "Huh?" "Goodness it took you a while, get up we're going out for dinner" you groaned again. "Please tell me it's not with the team" she stayed silent. Oh no. "Georgina" "y/n it's not gonna be bad. Come on don't let one dude ruin your whole trip, now get up and get dressed" she said as she started taking out her black long dress and some black heels. With that, she also pulled out a white cardigan. Meanwhile, You pulled out a black satin wide leg dress pants that were pretty high waisted since it covered all of your tummy, a black satin tank top and a black blazer. To top it off, you wore your black closed toed block heels that had a bow in the back.
7pm and you and your sister were in the car, on your way to eat dinner. "Y/n, what even are your thoughts on João" "don't even bring him up" you said before looking out the window. "Y/n it can't be that bad, try being friends with him today and see how it goes" you just scoffed at that and she didn't say anything else.
Once you guys arrived at the restaurant, you guys noticed a bus coming up. It was them. Your sister grabbed your wrist and looked at you "Come let's say hi to them" you nodded and followed her. Everyone greeted you guys with small hugs and waves and then there was João. Your sister greeted him and he did too before his attention went on you. "Hey" "hi" and thats all you guys said to each other. Although, you guys were still staring at each other. He still had his eyes on you and you didn't know why you couldn't look away. Just then your sister and Cristiano came up to you guys. "Come on guys do this later" said Cristiano, dragging João inside and so did your sister to you.
While eating and having small talks with each other, João and you sat in-front of each other as usual. You couldn't stand the awkwardness between you guys and took your sisters advice and looked at him. He looked up and locked eyes with you. "So João, how have you been" he took a sip of his drink before answering "so so, I'm nervous and all but trying to enjoy the most of it, what about you y/n" "ehh so and so too. I'm just trying to get my mind off with this trip to be honest" he nodded at your response. "So, you like soccer by any chance?" "Yes actually I used to play for my high school and middle school soccer team as a wide midfielder" and with that, you and him had a long talk. Interest after interest and you guys even laughed with each other.
Before you guys new it, it was already late and the team had to rest for practice tomorrow. Once you guys left the restaurant, he turned and looked at you "Hey y/n, we have practice tomorrow so, i wanted to know if you could come" you thought about it. You knew your sister was going so you nodded. "I'll be there João" you guys hugged each other and said your goodbyes. Just as you were turning around to walk towards the car, you heard footsteps running behind you. "Y/n!" You turned around and it was him. "Yeah? Everything okay?" "Yeah it's just..can I have your number?" You were shocked by the question but nodded. He handed you his phone and you typed in your number. "I'll talk to you later y/n and I better see you tomorrow" he said with a smile before turning around and running towards the bus. Without even realizing, you were smiling to yourself.
